Ok, I got one to add to the list of "remember when" for all us oldies

Who remembers transistor radios?? I used to lay in bed listening to AM radio, Uncle Brucie out of NYC because at night it would come through (I lived several hundred miles north of NYC).

And my Mom would wonder why I needed a new 9 volt battery so quickly because I would fall asleep with it on and of course the battery was dead by morning

I am not old!! 35 is not old. lol

I can remember my mom's station wagon having an 8 track and that was cool! Even the station wagon part was cool because all the kids could sit in the back and have a mini "party"

Mickey! omdb - I still sing that one. rofl

and Michael Jackson Thriller clothes and accessories - I had the whole "kit"
and Laser Tag guns first came out when I was in 4th grade and I was the only kid in class with a set - that was great at recess.

I can remember when penny candy became nickel candy - the little chocolate footballs and the fireballs and such.

This is so funny. They forgot that your only personal music device was a sony walkman. If you were lucky, it might even have a cassette player!! I just got rid of mine a few yesrs ago. I have no idea why I still had it. I got rid of most of my cassettes. =)

My dh is one of five children and he said that often some of the kids would be lying on the rear dash inside the rear window. Seat belts? What are those?? We rode in the back of the station wagon all the time

I still remember riding bikes to the local Convenient mart to get our 25 cent soft serve cones (helmets? no way!). Man, those were the days! I can't imagine letting my kids ride their bikes over a mile away from my house ALONE nowadays, but back then, no one seemed to think it was strange. We played outside all the time. We had Atari but rarely played it. And arcades were super popular--I used to love playing Centipede. Now you go to Chuck E Cheese and it is like Vegas for toddlers. Most of it revolves around some type of gambling. LOL.

When I was a child we didn't have a tv until I was in school...it had about a 12inch screen. No McDonalds, had never heard of tacos or any mexican food or chinese. We did on rare occasions have chef-boy-ardee spagetti from the kit. I didn't taste pizza until I was around 11 and I was pretty sure it would never catch on. We couldn't wear shorts or pants to school the entire time I was in school. For some strange reason it was okay to wear jeans under your dress in cold weather. We did have a root beer stand a town over and a ice cream stand. That was a really rare treat.

Yeah my mom made us wear dresses to school everyday. I would wear pants and shrit under and change at school. Worked most of the time except the times we didn't have time to change back before school was out. Also she made us iron everything. Thank goodness for wrinkle release and a dryer now

I can remember just about everything and am onily 24...I think I am probably the only 24 year old I know that doesn't own a cell phone and doesn't plan on getting one. When I'm out shopping or whatever, that is my time to get AWAY, I want to be left alone, besides I HATE talking on the phone and don't need any more bills!

I'm glad I posted this topic because I love reading all the replies!

I've got one for ya. A old co-worker of mine had his 9-yr-old son in the car along with the kid's friend. The friend wanted to roll down the window but couldn't figure out how. It had a hand crank, remember those??? LOL!!!

Another one. I still have a small panic attack when the idiot light (gas light) comes on in my car. I always thing there is something wrong with th te car then realize, oh yeah that is just the idiot light. lol I never ran out of gas before the idiot light, so I think I could do without the panic attack when it comes on.
Even worse is the idiot sound. Ding Ding when I forget to turn the blinker off. My first thought is OH NO THE CAR IS DYING!!! Then oh it is only the turn signal. lol It saves me from looking like a moron driving around with my turn signal on, but I wonder how much time it is shaving off my life with the scare. lol
