    Default Bioshock

Just warning, this game is rated M and I am talking about the content that makes it that rating, so don't read if this would cause a problem for you. It's a zombie/mutant killing game, and that's where the rating comes from.

Bioshock is a video game for the xbox (maybe the others, we have it on xbox). I was looking around and decided on this as a holiday present for DH. You can make your own guns, shoot zombie like people, and it was rated M so figured I'd have a good chance of him enjoying it.

I was totally right. He loved it. For his demographic, oh man, they hit it right on the head. I do have to admit the game was very interesting in the story line, and the moral conflicts through the game was neat.

But ooooh man did it earn that M rating. Forget about the blood everywhere, and killing people. The concept of the story is you are in a plane crash, only survivor, and swim over to this light house thing randomly sitting out in the ocean. You find this under water city named Rapture, and a walkie talkie with a guy named Atlas talknig through it helps you through the city. Rapture had previously kinda socially imploded on itself due to some power/money thing called adam, which some people had gotten so hooked on they mutated and are now kinda zombieish.

If I'm understanding the story correctly, to help generate adam, the perfect 'storage device' happens to be these people called Little Sisters. Little Sisters are like 6 year old little girls, running around the city harvesting adam from corpses. Yeah. So disturbing. Anyways, the story gets really gross and the M rating from what your choice of action for the Little Sisters. You can either a. Harvest the adam from them and kill them in the process or b. save them.

My husband was complaining he's a big softy now thanks to our daughter cause he couldn't harvest them and he was terrified that he would accidentally hit the button to harvest them.

Anyways, if anyone is looking at this, as the sequel is due out soon, be careful if you have little kids around. Totally not a game you want them to see any part of. Interesting for the adults, and like I said I liked following the story as DH played and the moral choices, but not for any younger players.
