Did anyone watch the origional "V" when it came out in 1983? I loved it and was disappointed when it was cancelled. I am anxious to see this one on 11/4. I am telling my age when I say I saw it in 1983.

I loved it too! I went as an alien from V in the 6th grade.
I hope they do a good job and don't ruin it or change it too much

Yup. I remember it and so does hubby. lmao I can't remember what happened with the alien baby thing though. That was right as it was cancelled, so don't remember details now. All I can remember is "Ewwwwwww!" lol

My ex-husband loved that show. I wasn't a big fan. I couldn't get past the voices of the aliens. They sounded like their voices were coming through a bad speaker...and it drove me nuts!! One of my OCD things, I think.

At any rate, my husband had never seen it. So we started watching this afternoon before he left for work. He's a huge sci-fi fan, but just couldn't get into this one. He said it was moving way too slow for him. We both got a kick out of the 80's stuff, though!!!

As for telling your age...my kids were in school when this was on the first time!

I remember watching it as a kid and I LOVED it!! Didn't really care for them eating hamsters though, but, aliens gotta eat too I guess. I don't see how a re-make could ever do it justice.

DH flipped out when he saw the original on syfy earlier yesterday, and he tried to get me to sit down and watch it with him. I told him no because I am looking forward to the new series and want to be surprised with what the show is going to be.

    It starts tomorrow! Wooo!

My DH watched it when it originally came out, I was a little too young to watch it then....and made me watch it all day yesterday. I actually got interested in it until I fell asleep on the couch and missed the last 3 hours. I am pretty sure we will be watching the new one also.

Oh yeah I totally watched it and have watched it every time it's been on t.v. in re-runs too. LOVED IT-total sci fi junkie here.

I doubt this one will be as good but I'll watch just to check it out!

I watched what little I could of the original on the SyFy channel over the weekend... I'd never seen it before so it was completely new to me. It was fun to watch, but I prefer the new, updated version. ;)

Did anybody else watch last night? What did you think? I loved the whole concept of spaceships and visitors from other plants (I'm what you would call an amateur sci-fi geek) but was a bit grossed out by the whole "checking for skull bone" deal. However, I have high hopes for this series... am hoping it will fill the LOST-shaped hole in my heart when it comes to an end next year.
