Season 2: Next Iron Chef

Did anyone get bounced off last night? I saw the first half and it wasn't an elimination round. Fell asleep sometime during all the gross things that they had to cook with, like unlaid eggs and cockscomb.

Hey!!! I thought I'd have to start this thread today! I watched until the last commerical...then I dozed off! It was down to two chefs at that point, and one of them was getting bounced. Luckily, my husband got home at 11:30, and it was on again. We watched the last 5 minutes together...and I saw that Chef Greenspan is gone. He was the one who got grasshoppers for his mystery item.

Do you have a favorite yet?

Thanks for the info! No favorites yet, but I really don't like the scowly dishwater blonde gal. I've seen her face before, but can't remember where.
Are the judges the same as last year?

I didn't see it last year. The judges are Donnatella Arpaia, Jeffrey Steingarten and I can't remember the last one.

I agree with you about the scowling girl. There's another one who seems to be laughing about everything...and I get the feeling that she's not taking this seriously. I have a couple of favorites, but I don't know any names yet.

I did some searching on Food Network. The one I like at the moment is Jose Gaces (I think he won the kudos 1st round from the other chefs). And the one I dislike the most is Nate Appleman. He really had only unkind things to say about the other chef's dishes (plus he apparantly doesn't know how to use a razor to get rid of ugly stubble) lol.
Judge Donnatella is back from season 1. The other two are new. Funny to have Jeffrey in there, he will be butting heads with the other judges, love the food snobs...they usually know what they are talking about.

Keep updating guys! I love the show but won't get to see alot seeing as I don't have a tv. I go to my parents to watch (mom loves food network too!) but I'm not always there when the show is on. Even though mom dvr's it for me I don't always have time to watch , so PLEASE keep posting updates! I really like "Chopped" so I'm a little partial to Chef Freitag since she's on there alot as a judge :)

Chef Freitag needs to loosen up and smile! I've probably seen her before from Chopped. I am addicted to Food Network. I might have hubby start taping Food Network Star for me too, it's on sooooo late here!
Will keep updating as the weeks progress. Might have to start taking notes. lol

I think sometimes even when she does smile it's hard to see that she's happy or excited cause she has those kind of shaped eyes that always look like she is half asleep. I remember thinking the first time I ever saw her "man, she needs some coffee!" :) But I still think she's good with food.
