What Would You Do? tuesdays on ABC

Does anyone else remember this show? People are put into odd situations to test 'what they would do'. For instance last year was someone sees their friends husband on a date, canoodling up to some woman, would they tell? etc etc.

No, it's okay, I just have to exercise some self-control. And yes, I think I remember this show - wasn't it originally broadcast as part of a 20/20 episode?

So, I didn't really get to watch this last week. (Hey ladywaterwind, I actually sat down that night to watch the three shows you posted about (and tempted me into wanting to watch!), but I fell asleep and only caught about five minutes of each show. LOL. So, were they any good? Eventually, I'll get around to watching Scrubs on hulu.)

BUT I'm posting because I noticed that zap2it lists the following description for tonights episode of "What Would You Do":

"Hidden cameras capture people's reactions to a man slipping a suspicious powder into his date's drink, a man stealing gas, and customers in a supermarket's express check-out line with an overflowing shopping cart."

Considering all the threads and posts on HCW about couponers getting comments from shoppers behind them about how long checkout is taking, I think it'd be interesting to see what happens in that third scenario. Of course, it's not the same scenario as a shopper with lots of coupons, but it probably brings out some of the same reactions. If I can stay awake late enough tonight, I think I'll watch it!

Ooooh, I forgot this was on tonight, thanks for posting about it!!

(Scrubs was OMG hilarious, I only saw a minute of the homeland show because we were watching something else, I think House, and I was tired so I went to bed in the middle of this show.)

Last weeks episode, what I watched of it, was really good. I saw the first part of it where immigrants came into a coffee shop and the waiter wouldn't serve them because they were 'illegal' and couldn't speak English, and blah blah blah. There were a few people that agreed with the waiter, and that was really sad. But then there were also a ton of people who stood up for the immigrants and were all 'how do you know they're illegal, you're a douchebag, etc etc'.

They said a number at the end of how many people stood up to the waiter for the immigrants and it was a refreshingly nice big number.

And then they had a second segment about big bad americans visiting other countries, like France, and these crazy people went to Paris and were all these huge steroetypes of bad American tourists. I didn't see that whole segment but I remember them on this cruise and the narrator was saying it was odd that the more they acted like outrageous Americans the more the French people seemed to dig them. But like all the other Americans they ran into shunned them.

I love this show. Last week was really good. That one lady who got so upset at the guy for being racial was awesome.

You really have to live everyday like you are on camera (which with technology we almost all are now) and not do or say things you would be embarrassed by if they put it on tv.

I agree with you on that.

Like last weeks episode where the one guy was agreeing with the waiter and telling the 2 guys to leave or else HE would call the cops and stuff. Then he realized it was for a show, and after talking for awhile with the reporter, he changed his tune and apologized to the guys for how he acted.

I don't know what changed his mind, but I'm glad he really took stock in how he was presenting himself and made the move to apologize to the guys, I thought that took some class cause alot of people can recognize a mistake but very few take the opportunity to correct it.

This episode is interesting. I liked that so many helped the drink girl, though the one couple of guys who egged the guy on were crap.

The one older woman in blue at the grocery thing, when the actor she let cut in front of her won the '$500' and she threw a FIT was nuts. That was a little depressing to see someone act like that about it.
