What's your opinion on the "rep me" threads?

I never even look at the ones that have "repping party" or "rep me and I'll rep you back". The whole rep business seems silly and unnecessary. We are all here to help each other out, not for accolades. JMHO for what it's worth.

I don't read them either, but they don't bother me. I figure that's what makes this place so great, is that we're all different, and we all enjoy different things. I can't get excited about the tv show threads, sales on shoes, or who's getting jewelry for Christmas. But...a lot of you don't get excited about sports like I do. We're a melting pot!!!

I don't go to the rep threads either. I rep if something was helpful or I otherwise enjoyed. I don't rep without reason. Then again, I don't get all gooey-eyed over how many reps someone has (including me), either.

When I was new on the board, I posted in one of the "rep me" threads because I wanted more green boxes. Now that I am moving up the list of reputation, I feel bad because some of mine weren't really earned. I love even pointless competition.

BTW, I still don't understand how to rep someones. When I click on the green boxes, I don't see anything. :shrug7:
