OK, sorry, I knew it was weird!
I tend to skim over the obituaries in the paper and find some of the terms for "died" pretty interesting.
Of course there are the usual ones:
passed away
died
went to be with the Lord
Then I have seen this one - expired. Ugh!! How utterly cold!
In just the past few weeks I have seen these that I find notable and unique:
slipped this mortal coil
joined God's heavenly chorus
left our earthly world and is enjoying the fullness of God's love and presence
began a new life with the lord
When my mom died this past July and I did the obit, at the time I couldn't bring myself to say "died" so I used "left us on . . ."
Anyone else an obituary reader??

I have seen a few strange ones, but a pretty common one is:
Passed
I commonly see "went to be with the Lord" in our local paper. I don't know that I've noted any "expired" comments.

I told my mother when my dog EXPIRES, I want a great dane. I thought it sounded nicer than died LOL
Yes, I read the obits, to see if my name is in there or notand then if it isn't I get up and start my day.
Ok, seriously, I do read them because sometimes that is the only way I find out whether someone I know might have passed away. I don't like expired either, makes it seem like they stayed too long on the shelf.
Raising children(especially teens) is like being pecked to death by a chicken
In my defense, I will only bid human beings in the auction forum if it's a MM.
I am an obit reader. I used to work at a nursing home, so I check to see if any of the residents I worked with have passed away. I also read the obits from my hometown paper to keep up on what's going on there.
Proud mom to an adorable two year old little boy!
Please excuse my spelling-my LO is on the loose and just learned how to climb-so I am typing as fast as I can!
I read them too. One reason is to see the person's former profession and life. Sometimes the deceased person has had some interesting jobs, etc.
Reading where others have worked or what type of life they might have led is interesting in a historical perspective too. Most of our family lives in GA and not many in the N VA areas.
