Im new at this, but, I think $5-$7 is cheaper than me buying extra newspapers to get the ones I want. Especially the amount of savings she is talking about; I would of given her the asking price anyway after having her do all that work.

bugface- thx for letting me know about that- i didn't know that policy.. will not do it this time - since i wasn't aware of it myself.. but if it happens again i will submit feedback- but first will contact maybe you to make sure :) heheh

the coupons that i know i can make some $$ on e bay , most of the times i don't even list them here - if i know that something is " hot " i list it there .. and i'm not expecting here to get that type of money. Yes there are fees involved on e bay - but for example - have sold lots of " 20 " coupons that sometimes went for 9.50 .. plus shipping.. - the fees that e bay and pay pal take go arround 2.00 $ comb. so i would be at 7.50 $ net.. - so some items are " higher " - and i get that a " odd coupons that's face value 5-10 $ is not the same as a coupon that we all use even if it is less in value .. i mean we as couponers know that stuff it's common sense.

If someone asks for stuff like " nicorette " or few weeks ago someone wanted allegra or excederin coupons etc.. this stuff i know i do n't need and most traders won't ask for it- so stuff like that i'm willing to give for anything you offer - plus shipping.

I'm glad you all are responding.. i needed this conversation :) got really frustrated.

    Thank you :)

ps.. need to add- this are " exceptions " in my trading experience .. other than this few less favorite trades- i have really all the best to say about the members that have traded with me.. some of them keep coming back for more.. some of them are " one-timers " but either way .. most members are so easy and fast to trade with - it's always a pleasure :)

If this is your experience, then I'd suggest that you focus on the 90 to 95 percent good trades you've had with members here. When you focus on the small percentage of "picky" traders, where there will always be some everywhere, you will be disappointed. I'm glad to hear most of your experiences were great :)

I agree with you, most traders here are better than great and most of it is due to the hardworking forum leaders who are on guard against bad traders. When we report, they act on it quickly, decisively and fairly. They really deserve the accolades

I've enjoyed reading all the comments in this post. I normally am willing to pay 10% of the face value of a coupon when I trade. However, I've traded several times with a member on here who just lists his/her price beside the coupons in their list. If I'm willing to pay the price, then I ask for a trade. I agree that it's all about how much value you place in the coupons both as buyers and sellers or traders.

I wish everyone put the price they want on their lists.
Sure would make it easier for me to trade.

I like either the price listed right in the post next to each coupon or if all coupons are a set standard price listed at the top.

So something along the lines of either

    (60) Cascade, Any - $1.00/1 (expires 12/31/2011) - 20c each
    (50) Velveeta Shells and cheese cups, any - $1.00/5 (expires 11/24/2011) - 10c each

    Or

All coupons are 10% face value unless otherwise noted

Or all coupons are 5c each

As far as discounts I like traders that offer a discount if I buy in bulk, be that free shipping when you order 100 or more coupons or a small percentage off if you buy a certain amount.

There are no hard and fast rules about what you should charge for your coupons, the demand will dictate it. If your not getting any takers then your prices may be too high. If you need to just unload excess coupons then hold a sale. It's just finning am retail store and learning how to move product and still make a profit.

Remember HCW is a board full of "thrift store shoppers" so our great deal price point may be lower than those on eBay. But not always.
