Default Finding legit mystery shopping jobs?

I start college in a week or two and I thought that, because I am EXTREMELY low income and new to the area mystery shopping might help me kill two metephoric birds with one stone and learn the area as well as have some fun on the cheap.

But, how do you make sure one is legit? Where can I find legit mystery shopping jobs in Roanoke Virginia?

I shop for several different companies, and it is definitely not a money maker. Most times it does not cover you entire expense. The other issue you have is that you may only get to shop once a month. Some places you can only shop every 90 days or 6 months. I average about 1 shop a month.

    Check out MSPA

You do not have to pay anyone to get a list of companies.

    Hope this helps.

Oh, that's weird, when I was a kid both of my parents did it and it was once or twice a week and they were fully reimbursed for it.

Hi, its not a bad idea~

You have youth on your side, you do need a Paypal acct. You need a car. They really want your HONEST opinion, I did an apt complex and the manager there, was telling me how nice, the next neighborhood was.
HA!! I knew different, it wasn't a good place, so I let them know that, in the report. I haven't done many.. various reasons., I'm not sure if i can name the companies, lol.. If you're really persistant, I think you could make some decent money, get some nice free meals, at least along the way~ A lot of times, they want 2 people, to go to dinner!! yay~

(i'll try and get back to you,.. have to find that email acct , w/ info~

I checked out some companies some several months back and I decided not to do it(for my own reasons, not that they were bad:-)). but the ones I was looking at were: trendsource, bestmark, aboutface corp, I did have second to none on my list and GFK(never checked into it but it is a major survey site). check out some of those and see if they are in your area, GL! You want to sign up with several companies, as each handles a variety of shops. I agree with the pp about checking out MSPA (Mystery Shopping Providers Assoc.) they are legit and every company they have listed on their site is a great place to know which companies to look into.

If you have HT in your area, sign up with Second To None, they are currently handling a variety of scenario shops for HT and their competitors.

You won't make a killing, but you do get reimbursed for a fixed $ amount on your purchases as well as a small stipend for the report filed online.

Depending on what types of shops you wish to do, there are many that you'll find in your area.

Another thought, if you're under 25, Corporate Research pays GREAT money for tobacco compliance mystery shops, and since they struggle to get people of the correct age to do them, their fees for the report climb rapidly. They are usually done at Murphy gas stations and a few other stores similar, so check them out. You could do a small 'route' of shops and make several hundred in one day Last year my son did huge routes for them and would make $3-$4 thousand in two to three weeks of being on the road - although that's extreme and most shoppers don't have that kind of time to make those long routes.

You can have fun and make a little money at the same time.

McDonalds is handled by Market Force, another good company who also handles Five Guys Burger and Fries, Sonic, as well as Aldi's stores and other companies.

Most mystery shopping companies do pay out a month or more later. For instance if you do shops in August, you will get paid in the beginning of October. Some, however, are paying out every two weeks or the following month (within 4-5 weeks time).

But I've never not been paid and had to chase payment.

Many of them do direct deposit to your checking account and many offer paypal options.
