    Default I'm shocked I buy...

Do you buy a convenience food that could be made easily at home?

For me it is frozen pancakes. DS is a SUPER early riser and wants to eat right now. I must admit it is nice to pop out a pancake, nuke it for 30 seconds and be done without the mess!

I do the same, if I can get something premade, like you mentioned pancakes, at a very good price, you bet I'll buy them

for instance, a few months back Dewafflebakers pancakes were on sale B1G1 at Lowes Foods, with the Penguin Frozen Food Month coupon display having $1/1 coupons for those, I stocked up! I ended up paying 90 cents for 18 premade regular or blueberry pancakes

They are packaged 3 to a pack inside the large package and it's been heaven to have pancakes at the ready without any mess or fuss.

I love pancakes but hate the frozen ones. Nobody in my family will eat them. I thought they would so last year I bought 20 boxes of them for .50 a box and was so happy. Then we tried them and hated them so I had to give them away. I wish we would like them because it is so much easier.
One time I bought a 6 pack of hard boiled eggs for $1.97 at Walmart. I was so excited because I hate boiling eggs. Well never again because they were awful and dried out. I do buy corn dogs occasionally though because I don't know how to make them myself, LOL but I don't eat them anymore only the kids do. I think since I have been cooking homemade for years that I spoiled my family. Because now we only want homemade food and hate most frozen foods. I used to buy them a couple times a week years ago but now it is about 1-2 months. We won't even eat the free ones because we hate them.
    Please pray for my family.

The past year or 2 I have started buying the frozen bagged meals - Bertolli, Wanchai Ferry, Voila, Macaroni Grill, even frozen lasagna. I never bought them or any type of frozen already-prepared food before but after cooking for so many years I guess I just get a little tired of it now and then.

We only have them once, maybe twice a month but I can't quite shake the shame I feel about it even though there is not a thing wrong with buying them. If you had the money you could get away with never cooking from scratch again because there are so many available now.

There's not really anything I buy that I feel guilty about except cookies from a store bakery. I know I could make them myself for a fraction of the price, but I can't get motivated to do it. I don't buy them often though.

But I used to blow money on crazy stuff. Weekly, I bought the Hormel bacon that had portions in their own little microwaveable bags. I believe it was around $5 a box-- with just 16 slices in it. I've also gotten bread with no crust at a price of twice the amount of a normal loaf.

There are a few things that I'll buy pre-made like pancakes, waffles, those biscuit sandwiches. I buy those because I have to be up before the rooster crows to be at work on time. I'll also buy some prepackaged frozen dinners if I have no time to cook that day.

Yep. Back when I ate pancakes I would buy frozen or I would make a ton and freeze them. I no longer eat pancakes.

Now I buy precooked hamburger patties. I buy those little White Castle burgers. I buy gluten free chicken nuggets, gluten free burritos, I buy prepared salads and sandwiches on occasion. I do very little baking any more.

Those little applesauce squeeze bottles aka Buddy Fruits, Go Go Fruits, and Nature's Child. DD wen through a phase with them which I think might finally be over. But when she first had her braces put on she couldn't eat anything, and all she wanted was Buddy Fruits. They only sell them singly for 88 cents, so between DH and myself we spent almost 18 dollars over a 3 day span, just on Buddy Fruits. The Go Go fruits were a little bit cheaper, a box of 6 for about $2.50, which she didn't like as much. Then she tried the Nature's Child and loved them, at $3.00 for a box of 6. Crazy expensive! But when your kids like something that isn't too bad for them, it's hard to say no.

Bagged salad. I can get a bag of Dole Greener Selections at 99 cents only fir 99 cents, but a head of lettuce is over $1.50 at ralphs and the same bag of salad at Ralph's is $3.00!!!

We eat a bag of salad every day, sometimes two.
