Hacked accounts - anyone else get emails?

I received emails from Kroger and Best Buy today stating the following:

Dear Valued Best Buy Customer,

On March 31, we were informed by Epsilon, a company we use to send emails to our customers, that files containing the email addresses of some Best Buy customers were accessed without authorization.

Kroger wants you to know that the data base with our customers' names and email addresses has been breached by someone outside of the company. This data base contains the names and email addresses of customers who voluntarily provided their names and email addresses to Kroger. We want to assure you that the only information that was obtained was your name and email address. As a result, it is possible you may receive some spam email messages. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I'm finding this a little scary that this is happening more frequently.

Has anyone else received these?

I got the same one, but I'm not too worried. All they got was names and email addresses. I get plenty of spam as it is. They probably could have bought a list with the same information.

I'm just wondering how they know it was "only" names and email addresses.

i am not for sure how they know it is only names and email address, but this is happening alot more now. kind of scary.

Yup...mine came from US Bank and another one of the companies I frequent...the name escapes me for the moment.

I received at least 4 of the same thing. Which is the reason why I don't use my real phone number and birthday on anything online. And that email is junk email only. So I am not to worried.

I got them from USBank, Chase and Kroger. If you read the articles about the Epsilon breach, it says that Epsilon is a company that handles emails for over 2500 companies.

I got one also from Kroger and US Bank

Yep.. got one from Kroger, Disney Destinations and Home Shopping Network. Alot of companies seem to use this service.

Yup. Got Kroger and Disney. I still haven't "recovered" from all the spam from Wags getting hacked. I really don't need all the penis enlargements. Really.
