Interesting enough we watched and it didn't seem to bother her. But I had showed her some footage from 9 11 last september and that really upset her.

Well when they killed Osama I mentioned to her that the man that planned those attacks was killed by our military. For some reason she can relate to those more.

Anywho we were discussing not going with strangers, stranger danger that type of talk and I said that very evil bad people want to do bad things...so you must never ever go with someone no matter what the reason. She then said "like the bad man that flew the planes into the buildings" yes. She's kind of grasping it.

For as much as I want her to stay very very innocent. The reality that bad things happen and things like stranger danger type of stuff need to be discussed.

she's at her first sleep over/birthday party this weekend I really never wanted her to go to one...but they arranged it so she could go (last year they planned it over Sunday..so we had an excuse) by not planning it over Sunday this year. Bah. So anyways we've had lots of talking about not letting anyone touch you ect type of talk.

Praying nothing bad happens cause I'm a nervous wreck.

I agree it does depend on the child. My children both went with me to the holocaust Museum in DC, ( then ages 8 and 10) while I prepared them they were still shocked and in a way I was glad they had that experience so that they will grow up knowing that it happened and will never forget the impact it had on them, and seeing first hand what all the people had to go through because of hate.

I guess it depends on her age mentally. My son is advanced for his age (he's now 8) and I watched it while he was playing on the computer in the same room a couple of years ago. It gave us opportunity to discuss things that are done to people that are so wrong. He also has strong feelings about the Armenian holocost and slavery in America. I don't hide any of the past wrongs from him. It helps for him to realize what is wrong and right and develop empathy and a conscience.
