I agree it does depend on the child. My children both went with me to the holocaust Museum in DC, ( then ages 8 and 10) while I prepared them they were still shocked and in a way I was glad they had that experience so that they will grow up knowing that it happened and will never forget the impact it had on them, and seeing first hand what all the people had to go through because of hate.

I really never wanted her to go to one...but they arranged it so she could go (last year they planned it over Sunday..so we had an excuse) by not planning it over Sunday this year. Bah. So anyways we've had lots of talking about not letting anyone touch you ect type of talk.
