ITA with the advice to have your DD examined by an actual doctor. I'm sorry, but I just wouldn't freak out over the "helpful comments" of the nice lady who administers hearing tests. None of my children are autistic, but two of them are what I like to call "late bloomers." My DS didn't walk until 20 months and didn't talk until after age 3. Even his doctor hinted around once or twice that he might be autistic, but he's turned out to be totally normal. So unless I had an actual diagnosis and 2-3 second opinions from autism specialists, I just wouldn't start worrying about it.

My son IS autistic.
I recommend anyone who has any questions to contact your birth to three program, if your child is within those parameters.
Contact Headstart, Early Intervention, preschool screenings, etc.
And best yet,
Easter Seals.
I am happy to talk to anyone at any time off line
