Smee couldn't have said it any better. My texture changed as well. I have to color so it won't stick straight in the air by the end of the day. Clairol gray solution has a pre-treater that relaxes the gray and the color takes better.
I started going grey at 25...and I have been dying my hair ever since!!! I refuse to go grey "naturally" until I consider myself to be old...and since that will never happenI will prolly be dying my hair till I am dead and buried!!

I have colored my hair for more than 10 years to cover the gray. The hair dye (medium auburn or dark auburn) covers the gray very well.
I think my natural color now is salt and pepper but I really have no idea. I just know what the roots look like. I've always said I'll never grow old gracefully and I don't plan on starting any time soon.
I started getting gray hair when I was in high school and I'll be 39 in May (ugh I hate growing old).

There is a method to my madness
Maybe I'm weird, but I don't see myself ever dying my hair or trying to cover up gray. I just turned 20 and I know I'm young, and I don't have gray hairs yet, but I think it can be very beautiful when people embrace it and I see it as natural part of life, a natural progression of aging, and not something to be afraid of. I see it more as something to be proud of, because it shows maturity. I know society sends different messages, but I don't think gray/silver hair is a horrible thing. There is one couple in my church that I look up to and admire greatly, and both of them have beautiful silver hair and they are so in love with each other, it makes me so happy to see them together (they call each other their "silver foxes") and it's beautiful because they embrace it.
Yeah, I don't mind the grey. It's the toilet brush texture that's bugging me. I haven't started coloring yet, but I'll consider it in the future if it will tame the beast.

I don't have any gray hairs yet and I am 40. My sister and Mom however have had alot of gray hair since they were in their 20's. I prayed years ago to not get gray hair so I know someone is listening.![]()

I went gray very young and started to color. After a few years I decided to go natural...not a fun thing to do since there is no way of avoiding looking like a skunk. After a couple of years I started to color again. I knew if I started again there was no going back. Now I have it done every 5 weeks or so at the salon.
