    Default Coupon database

I have a confession. After a year + of trying to keep up with the database.. I can't do it!

I'm gonna type all my coupons! It's kind of a stress relief to sit down and type little coupon stuff up. So I'm going to stop stressing and just do it the way I want!

Amazing the little things that make your day better, huh?

I've been doing that for the past 4-5 months too! And it takes about 10 mins a week: I start with copy/pasting the list from previews on this site and just delete/modify to match what I have (eg. $1/2 instead of $0.50/1, etc.) The coupons in my local paper are often different or fewer than what most get; having my own Excel spreadsheet makes it easier for me. I use the "find" function to quickly look for what I need. I also have a column with exp date for each coupon - this way I can tell at a glance if an old insert can be tossed out, rather than going through it and looking for the various exp dates.

I'd love to know how you do yours :)

I am not sure yet. What I did in the past was seperating them into catagories and by alphabetical .. and if I had some expiring that month I wanted to get rid of, just copy and paste those into a new list of items that I would trade for much less.

Sorry! I'm a newbie and a little confused... Why type your q's in a separate spreadsheet instead of putting them on the database? I love the way the db puts people together in order to make trades! Also, when you input all the q's in the db you can get a complete list of your "haves" and your "wishes" in order to update your links in the signature. Am I missing something?!?!

Not at all.. I just never keep up with putting them in the DB.. seems much easier for me to used a typed list. Who knows why..

I can't keep up with the database either.

Wish there was a way...I could just put in the newspaper/date/insert I have and it would automatically know what coupons I have...and I could go in and put the amount I have in..and delete the ones I was keeping.

then I would just have to really manually put in the non inserts.

I'm so fortunate that I live in the area of the Raleigh News and Observer. One of the writers has a N&O blog, and she maintains an excel spreadsheet of all the insert coupons. She will update early Sunday morning, so all I have to do is download the file and I'm good to go - with the exact coupons I will have in my inserts.
Here's a linky if any of you use the Raleigh N&O:
    Today's coupons are up... | newsobserver.com projects

Look in the middle of the page for the link to the file.
