So let's discuss! Why did you post what you did?
Yes! It's a great place.
No! It's not appropriate for children.
I'd go with my spouse, but not kids.
I'd take teenagers, but not young children.
This question was posed on a local message board and I was surprised at the scope of responses. I'll add a poll as well to make it "scientific".
Is Hooters a "family friendly" restaurant? Do you take your kids there? Specific ages or genders only? Why or why not?

Um, no. The entire concept of the restaurant is based on hyper sexualizing the female servers.
No thanks.
I picked that I would go with my spouse, but not my kids. A couple of years ago, DH and I went out of town for the weekend. Valentine's Day was that Saturday and he got to chose where ever he wanted to go for lunch and I got to chose where to go for supper. He chose Hooters, "because of the wings."(I really do believe him on this-he is a really good guy)
No, I wouldn't take children there. The uniforms objectify Women, we are not just a piece of meat!

While their wings are really good, I wouldn't take my kids there when they were young. I wouldn't want my DD working there either.

Technically it's better than a nudie bar. That's about all it's better than..when it comes to the atmosphere...

We went on a family vacation to Florida with my mom & grandma when I was 16 and my sister was 12.
Somehow we wound up eating lunch at Hooters one day. I don't quite know why we four ladies decided to eat lunch there, but we did.
I was mighty embarrassed that I went to Hooters with my Gram rather than traumatized by the scantily-clad waitresses....I'm gonna have to try to remember to ask my sister if she remembers that, and if she was traumatized.
(I'm pretty sure we got t-shirts or some other logoed souvenirs while there, too.)
