I too have seen women dressed like this grocery shopping...short shorts, a tank top, and even worse no bra ...definitely wasn't as attractive as the one in the pic, but same type of outfit none the less.

You can also get a much bigger eyeful at the beach/pool too...

I get that statement is totally disregarding what a restaurant like that may or may not be teaching your children, but I think a teen (and I guess I should specify I wold feel comfortable with about 14-15 and older) should have morals in place that would negate that lesson.

I already knew what hooters girls dress like And yes, I have seen young girls wearing low tank tops and very short shorts at many places.

Do I want my daughter to dress that way? No.

I get what you are saying and I pretty much feel the same way. We cannot shield our kids from how others dress. Then you would never go to a pool or beach I guess since more skin is shown there.

I would have to say that with the amount of breasts already being shown there, it would be hypocritical of them not to allow breastfeeding.

I would say based on their corporate breastfeeding policy, they are more family friendly than, say, Applebee's, which has thrown nursing mothers out, in gross violation of state laws.

Several of the comments on my local message board alluded to the fact that any woman who is disdainful of the server's outfits must be jealous, lacking in self-esteem, and harbor old resentment against cheerleaders from high school. I thought it very funny that ideals of modesty are now somehow grounded in jealousy and resentment.

My DH won't go to Hooters, Wing House, or similar places because scantily clad women embarrass him. We are trying to raise our boys to be the same - to have respect for women with self-esteem, self-respect, who don't have to expose themselves for money or attention (some women dress that way for free - ugh).

I have never been to one. I don't think I would call it a family friendly restaurant but it would not be the end of the world if my kids went to one. You can see women dressed in just as revealing clothes just shopping at the mall or anywhere else.
You miss the point, jen. It's not about showing skin. It's about being required by your employer to wear too tight clothing and fit a specific body type to serve food to people. It's about an entire restaurant concept based on objectifying women. Scantily clad women at the mall are dressing how they choose. The mall didn't require them to come shop like that. The mall isn't trying to lure in business with scantily clad shoppers.

I got the point. I do not agree with the business ethics of the place. I was just stating that I would not be horrified if someone took my kids there since they can see a woman dressed like that at other places.

My DIL had both of her sons' first birthday parties there. It embarassed some members of the family, but most of us just laughed. There is a picture of each surrounded by the young women who worked there.

Those parties represent the only time I went there. The food isn't that good.

I agree with the objectifying women but at the same time they choose to work at these places because of the money.

If more women would reject the criteria and refuse to work there these places wouldn't thrive. Unfortunately I don't see that happening any time soon since women have been objectified forever.

I voted that I wouldn't take my kids there, but that's because the few times I have eaten in that restaurant, the food tasted terrible, the waitresses ignored female patrons and it is just plain expensive.
