I just generally do not like the look of longer hair on men and I do not care for the way that boy looks.

You would have hated my DS's hair then. We looked like twins! lol

I don't have problem w/ long hair on anyone as long as it is kept clean.I hate dirty stringy hair... DS liked his hair long and, to me, it was his choice how to keep his hair, as long as it was kept clean! lol

Does it matter what the boy wants to do w/ his hair? Not trying to be fussy, but does he get a say in it? What if he hates it shorter and you keep making him cut it? Is that any different than telling him he can't play with a barbie because you don't like it? (not saying you won't let him, but just trying to illustrate)

I like the long hair on Celine Dions little guy. Looks cute. He is dressed very "normally" otherwise, slacks, t-shirt, sneakers, all clean. Looks good to me!

my FIL gives us guff about our 7 year old sons hair, thinks it is too long. But he has way curly hair and if you cut it really short his head looks bumpy. If you wet his hair and comb it straight it is down to his shoulders in some parts. But dried and curly it is just mid neck.

For now, they have no say. As long as I am the one washing it and combing it, it's my choice. When they are old enough to take care of it and can express their opinions, we'll talk. I'm not holding my breath. I have a friend with a 10 year old boy, and he stinks! Literally! And she has to force/threaten/bribe the boy to wear deodorant.

So when they are old enough to take care of long hair in an acceptable manner, we'll see. I know these pix of Celine's kid have been floating around for a few years, when I know he was much too young to be taking care of it himself.

I just don't think it's becoming on him at all. Seriously, I think he looks like the kids from that tv show in the 70s, what was the name of it? Land of the Lost or Planet of the Apes, one of those.

The kid's hair doesn't look particularly healthy - the way it comes down to points on the ends shows he badly needs at least a trim to get rid of the split ends.

I would think he constantly gets mistaken for a girl and that he wouldn't like.

All this reminds me of my brother 35 years or so ago. He grew his hair longish and my parents were always badgering him to cut it. My aunt was a stylist (is that what they call ladies who cut hair these days?) and she finally convinced him to let her "trim" it. Boy did she scalp him. He was furious and my parents told him he'd never have to cut it again. So he didn't for a long time - til the Coast Guard. Now he gets it cut every 3 weeks - religiously!!

Hey now, its a proven fact that humping is a dominance issue.

Celine Dions little boy has already had his hair cut...last winter

I'm not one to pay alot of attention to celeb gossip but I did google it yesterday because I remember Celine saying something on Oprah a while back about why they had not cut his hair and I could not remember what it was. If it was cultural, or compensating for his fathers lack of hair :)

Seems that the kid never wanted a hair cut....so they didn't get him one.

I had to go look up this episode of South Park..LMAO! I swear Parker and Stone were peeking in my living room when they came up with this storyline...I parent like Cesar Milan! Not sure that's something to brag about or not....but there is a kid and a dog in this house, that have hiney's that hit the floor at warp speed when I tell them to sit!
