I found some steak from 2000, when we changed over freezers in April.

love2save - I think nearly all of us who have kids and a freezer can chalk up at least 1 loss of the contents to the K I D S!!!

leqet - what about pumpkin bread? Or are you gluten free? My youngest loves pumpkin pie too.

I'm gluten free, but I'm sure I could find a recipe for gluten free pumpkin bread. My problem is not finding something to make with it. My problem is I don't want to use it and then not have any pumpkin. I know. it's crazy. I keep saving it for some special occasion because pumpkin is not something I eat everyday so it sounds special somehow. This was the first time I made my own pumpkin puree so I guess I'm nostalgic about it. I probably need to use it though before it's bad. The funny thing it everything else in my freezer get used up and rotated so I use the older stuff first. I don't have anything else more than a couple months old (the next oldest would be my frozen veggie stockpile from march that is already dwindling). I just keep putting the pumpkin back in there.

Nothing is more than 2 months old. We moved out in May and moved back in 3 weeks later, but between living in hotels for a weekend, an extended stay for 2 weeks, and a friend's freezer while we went to Indy, we had to get rid of all our cold stuff. And I had a really good stash of beef, butter, and bacon.

My youngest son was home a few weeks ago so there's not much left in the freezer at all. He believes my stock piling is to stock his freezer when he visits, which is true.

he had been in there at least 4 or 5 years .. still in good shape too

The kids thought it was really "cool" to see the fish again and took it out back and gave it a proper burial

If I owe you feedback, please let me know!
