Grocery stores located in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg TN? Going on vacation!

I need to know what grocery stores are located in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg TN. We are going on vacation soon and I know I will forget something that we need. So I want to know what stores there are and do they double at all? Any help will be appreciated! I hate to pay full price even if I'm on vacation . Thanks again!

When we went down there, the only store we went to (and also the only one I remember) is Walmart. I had extreme sticker shock when I saw milk for $4/gallon. We pay $2 where we are.

I have not been there in a few years, but when we used to go several times a year we always went to Sevierville, TN (about 7 or 8 miles in the opposite direction of Gatlinburg) to buy groceries or other things we needed...things were always cheaper there....I think they have a Walmart, Food Lion, Kroger(doubles in most places i think), and a Dollar General. Like I said though it's been a few years since I've been, so maybe someone else will have more up to date info for you. I hope you have a great vacation. :)

Thanks for the info guys. I'll be looking at finding a Kroger's for sure. We used to have them here and I loved that store.

we went to krogers when there... it was on the main strip in pigeon forge... by a pancake house. it was on a big corner intersection.

I am not sure, but i think they only double to 50cents. Nice store, you'll find a lot of the beer rebates in there :)

p.s. to avoid the people at the front of the store set up to talk to tourists... when they ask tell them you are a local, they'll leave you alone then. I think you can even get a sticker saying you've been asked already. lol.

It's been about 8 years since we've been there, and we shopped at Kroger. Except for the people targeting tourists that oceanbreeze mentioned, it felt just like home! It was set up like the one near us!

OK...let me add that I'm jealous!! I love that part of the country (especially when you get off the main drag, and into the more scenic parts...not the tourist traps!).

In Sevierville, TN there is A Kroger, Dollar General, Walmart, Food Lion, and a Food City(On Dolly Parton Pkwy). In Pigeon Forge, TN there is a Food City, a Kroger, and a Food City. In GatlinBurg, TN there is a Save-A-Lot, and a Food City. Some of thes are not on the main drags there.

Thanks Everyone! I have a feeling a will be stopping at every store I see at some point or another. Call me crazy but I love finding beer rebates, tearpads and blinkies machines. DH thinks I'm nuts! The last time we went was to get married and then I didn't know about hard core couponing like now. So glad I found this site!

You're making me soo jealous. This is the first year we haven't been to Gatlinburg/PF since 2005. =-p

Food City on 321 is your best bet if you're actually in Gburg. Just try not to think too hard about your stockpile at home. There is the Walmart in Seviervile, but it is CROWDED. I only went there once. The Kroger in PF on Wears Valley Rd wasn't too bad far as crowded. I'd just aim for ads.

Just try to remember (I tell myself this also!!) that you're on vacation. And ENJOY! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE that area.

ETA: There is an Italian place in the same parking lot (across the gas station section) as the Food City on 321 in Gburg that is soooo very good. I mean, seriously good. You should check it out while you are there. :)

My younger sister, her fiance (now hubby, they got married at the Little Log Cabin) the parents and my brother & SIL just got back from Gatlinburg. Unfortunately, I couldn't make the trip, and I'm soo jealous (no, not really, I've been to Australia! or so I keep telling myself to not feel jealous LOL)
Anyway, they rented a cabin and the plan was to hit the grocery store so they could cook in and not spend money on dining out. Well that didn't quite work out as they ate out almost every day. My mom said they went to the store once, to Food City and it was reasonably priced. My sister said she missed my coupon binder! You know I would have brought that for sure!
