Anyone remember the "Summer of Hair"? Four words - CVS & Loreal Vive Pro!

I was moving some HBA stockpile and found that a bottle of conditioner had broken in the bottom of a container. As I wrestled the bottles from their gluey grave and degunked them in the sink, my mind drifted back down memory lane.

Was that 2006? 2007? The old timers will remember. I'd just learned to CVS and had mastered rolling ECBs when the Loreal, Sunsilk and Herbal Essences deals came out. I had 100+ bottles by the time the dead were buried and the dust had settled. Do they still make Sunsilk? I have about 19 bottles left, and I haven't bought shampoo in a couple years. Ah, the good old days, when almost anything could be had for free with coupons and patience...

I'm home on this wet and nasty day with a three year old and his stomach bug. It's almost unheard of for me to have four days off in a row (yay for dead presidents!) so I seized the opportunity to begin transforming my office (SNIFF! Boohoo!) into the baby's room. I'm having to move my HBA stockpile to the garage, and it's turned into a nostalgic little trip.

Now I'm fondling those last few moneymaker Schick Power Quattros - $10 ECB and a $5 coupon for a $10 product....sigh. The coupon .30/2 Pillsbury lying next to them on my desk drags me back into reality :shrug7:.

I can tell I'm running on 4 hours sleep. I woke up at 5:30AM with my child heaving in the floor next to my bed.

I definitely remmeber that deal b/c I was relatively new as well. I am impressed that you still have some left. I was just getting the hang of it so I did not buy enough! I only bought for a year!

I remember! It was 2007 because that was the year I started couponing.
I thought I bought a lifetime supply of shampoo and was almost ashamed of myself for having hoarded so much...but with 2 teen dds, and a neighbor family (3 teen girls whose mom passed away that year) that I share my stuff with, it was gone before I knew it.
Since then I've actually had to pay up to .25 for shampoo to keep the supply adequate.
I would love another Vive deal....

summer of 2007.

while i did stock up on sunsilk for next to nothing, i skipped the loreal, i just didnt care for it. I still have 10 bottles left and am so grateful for the way it was "back then".

is it just me or are the companies getting stingy putting out good coupons? The deals at cvs are not as hot, and its been months!

That deal must be how I got all this L'oreal Vive Pro in my closet. I think I gave away most of the Sunsilk. That was before I had this unnatural attachment to my stockpile. Ah, the good ol' days....

Oh boy I wish I had found this site back then. I did get some Loreal in the summer of 2008 at Rite-Aid for free that's when I started. And last year I got the Garnier for free at Wags since then though the hair deals seem to have disappeared.

lol .... you took me back down memory lane also. We had so much lorel vive pro ... which my teenage dd (with hair down her back to her waistline) went through it like water! I keep hoping for a deal like that again! I think the vive pro was maybe 07??

I didn't do any of those deals (gasp!), but I still have totes full of playtex. Who would have thought free tampons would make a girl so happy?

Oh yeah - still have those left too. I forgot about that deal... I remember thinking I was stocked up through menopause. Too bad "Summer of Feminine Products" isn't more catchy.
