| OK...I'm officially old!! Yep...my baby's birthday is today, and shes 30!!! Well, for that fact, my oldest is 30 also, but he'll be 31 in 3 weeks (I had one year when I was totally irresistable!!)
So...I think I'll make a cup of tea, take some Advil for the aches and pains of arthritis and bursitis, and grab a sweater for this chill in the air. Wait a minute...I've been doing all of those things for years!!
Anyway...I'm feeling a little nostalgic this morning, thinking back over the last 30 years, and what a wonderful daughter I have. If she wasn't 900 miles away, I give her a big hug right now!
Time for a tissue. Thanks for listening!

| Re: OK...I'm officially old!! Xufan, ahhh...we are very close in age, and at once it just hits a person how little time we have left. (At least for me, it did.)
Congrats on your kids birthdays.
It must comfort you to know that all of the wisdom you have learned from life's trials have helped many at this site, to avoid potential pitfalls.
I have seen you also help others find a rabbit trail Out of the maze they are in.
In the end, all that matters is that our life counts for something, & that we have impacted strangers with our kindness/love, support & experience. |

| Re: OK...I'm officially old!! That's not how I feel.....I look at these years as some of the best years of my life....no more diapers, I'm self-employed, my hubby is retired, I'm debt-free, and I feel like I have more wisdom concerning the things of God....the only draw-back would be reversing roles with your parents...my Dad died in 2007 and my Mom is in a nursing home.....but they are both saved, so we will all be together one day again.
Yes, I enjoyed the years with my kids, but I have to admit it was hard...both mentally, physically and financially.....and the teenage years....would never want to go through those years again... thought I was going to kill them somedays....
Nope....I'm happy as I sit here in my jammies, drinking a cup of coffee...ahhhhhhhhh.....God is good and He has given me a great life. |

| Re: OK...I'm officially old!! Oh my gosh!! I'm not upset about it. My title was totally tongue in cheek! I'm sad that we're so far away today...but I feel so good about the fact that I raised two of the most wonderful, caring kids anyone could ask for. I love the time when they were small, and honestly neither of them gave me any big problems when they were in their teens. It's been a wonderful 30 years! It feels like it flew by!!
It just cracks me up when people say..."I'm 30 now...I'm so old!!" I just tell them to wait until their kids are 30...THEN they can say they're old!!!
But...it's all in fun!!

| Re: OK...I'm officially old!! Yes...I will have to agree the years have gone by quickly for me also...and isn't it amazing how as you get older they seem to go by quicker then they use to... ....sorta like a week of work versus a week of vacation....I know the hours and days are all the same, but I swear they don't seem that way..... |

| Re: OK...I'm officially old!! Awwww..Happy Birthday to your 30 year old baby! And many more to come. I will grab a cup of tea with you
(make that a beer!, cheers) and the Aleve (Advil upsets my tummy) and make a toast to you and yours.
My DD is 1200 miles away (feel your pain) and is also a wonderful woman! She just sent me a thank you card for her birthday gifts
(Oct 7th was her 23rd bday) which were transported by my DH to her when he went to his conference in WI.
Hey! You're irresistable now.
