Default Re: R.I.P. messages painted on cars-what do you think?

I could definitely see where there was someone killed by a drunk driver or something and maybe having some stickers or tee shirts done and having $ go to MADD or SADD or whatever-but other than that-don't get why I'd want a tee shirt either memoralizing my loved one.
Like I said to each their own, just some things make you go hmmm

Up north of where I live, where I work is a backwoods town. EVERYBODY has RIP messages on their cars/trucks. They also include the persons nicknames like "Bubba" "Spanky". Cracks me up. I don't mean any disrespect to this persons death, but it seems a little hillbilly-ish to me...

We came up behind a van once..not only was the whole back window a decal, but it had a photo of the baby...in the photo the babies eyes were all huge & almost bugged out...surely they HAD to have had a better photo of that child! I'm not kidding, it was full head sized, major creeped out.

Just another thought... a local woman has RIP license plates for her husband who was killed by a drunk driver: RIP JGF for his initials.....AND has the RIP on the window in stickers....
they were not very well off before he passed....she would have never been able to afford the car or her brand new home without the life insurance and wrongful death lawsuit that was brought against the young wealthy driver.....

Everyone wants to remember their LOVED ones and everyone does it differently.
No reason to be creeped out, to me it does not bother me at all.

I've seen the window stickers.

It makes me sad.

I pray.

I see the back window decals here all the time. It's not something I'd likely do, but I'm not creeped out by it. People grieve and mourn in all sorts of ways and if it brings them comfort, I'm all for it.

The reason I thought it was creepy at first, is because we had just bought the truck, and it was the first time I'd ever seen anything like it. I had no idea that people did this on a regular basis...and the only thing I could think was that he had been killed either IN or BY this truck. And that IS creepy!

Memorializing the death of my father on the window of a car would have fit him perfectly...he was a car NUT and he would've loved it.

It's not something I would choose to do, but I don't really see a problem with it either. To each his own.
