BLUSH Warning for Walgreens Employees

We have heard that a few employees have gotten fired by management and loss prevention for violating Walgreens Employee coupon policy/RR and reselling policy's. Someone wrote again about it on my blog today, her son was fired--wrote her to get more of the story.

So, if you are doing a lot of IVC, MFR couponing and rolling of Register rewards, and multiple transactions I would suggest holding onto your receipts. We have started saving all of ours, and writing what we earned for Register Rewards at the top of the receipts. I guess they are saying that employees are not earning the rewards they use, are keeping customers register rewards, and reselling the products they buy at flea markets or online because they can't possiably use all the stuff they buy every week. Some Walgreens have started writing your employee number and store number on the Register rewards you are using, so it would be a good idea to have your receipts to prove you earned yours in case. Also, make sure that you aren't reselling the products you are buying as an employee as it is against their policy. If they find out you are that is grounds for being fired. We always have a manager or an manager ring us out, or be there when we ring out because sometimes we have pennies out of pocket and want to make sure that we can not be told we are doing anything wrong at a later date. We stockpile so we buy a couple times a week if a sale is good but only but 1 of each RR item a day to make sure we aren't clearing shelfs.

Just wanted to give the mods who are employees a warning, and other employee shoppers about what we have heard. Might be a good idea to ask your managers about the policy, I know we are going to be saving our receipts and asking just to make sure we don't get an un-needed visit from loss prevention.

Please move this if it's not in the right spot mods. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

I'm glad you posted this- my mom's cashier fought with her and tried to steal her RR from her! She knew better and finally got it, but the cashier immediately wadded it up in a ball and hid it under the counter. well my mom knew what it was and said "um sir i want that", he said.. "oh no you dont want that it's no good", and she said "YES, i do want it" and he kept arguing "oh you cant have it it's nothing" and she finally said again "give me my RR it is mine it came on my printout" and he finally gave in and gave it to her! of course it was good & vaild- he was trying to steal it from her!!

My SIL works for a grocery store (won't name the name) but her manager lets her keep any of the CATS that customer's walk away and leave. She is honest though and offers them to the customer but most don't want the "coupons." So she stacks them up by the CAT and brings them to me periodically. She doesn't coupon. Most of the time they are junk but occasionally she brings a good Q or OYNO $$ off CATS.

I think it is okay with her because she is honest and says to every customer, "here are your coupons." or "wait your coupons are printing." She says 90% walk off or say they don't want them. However, if you had a cashier that wasn't offering them to the customers who they belonged to that would be a whole other story.

My son was fired from Walgreens before they started Register Rewards. He was buying items that were on sale, using manufacturers coupons and store coupons. He used only one manufacturers coupon (& store coupon when there was one) per item. He never resold anything. He did, though, give some items away. The best I can remember, he was fired by the DM. He has told one coupon per item meant he could only buy, for instance, one toothpaste & use one coupon. He could not buy two tubes & use two coupons. This was abusing the coupon policy. He was told he was abusing his store discount by buying more than he could possibly use & buying things he didn't use (hair color). Even one of the cashiers was fired for letting his buy multiplies of a product using multiple coupons. His coupon buying was over a 3 or 4 month period and he was an amateur by my standards. He went online & found out it was happening at stores throughout the US. That's why I said check to make sure your store doesn't think this practice is against store policy. I would hate to hear of anyone else being fired because of someone's dislike of coupons and people who use them.

I have never had a WAGS employee try to keep my RR. Always on the up n up. Also, I have been in line at the cosmetics counter and seen employees checking out with another employee, which seems to be a good practice to keep things again on the up n up.
I have however, been in a WAGS the Sat night before a new sale, eyeballed some products and come in the next AM bright and early on a Sunday, and have shelves already wiped out or 1 product left. Not all the time, but enough to know that employees were doing it.
So, it's great to get free stuff, but sheesh leave some for the customers please!

Yep I find good Cats left in carts and such all the time at the two grocery stores. I've even found coupon inserts where someone took the qs they wanted and left the rest in the cart! Just today I found a good peelie someone took off the product and set by the belt. Cashier said the person didn't want it

It may not be the employees. I have been to CVS on a Sunday morning and found sale items hid behind other items. I think people go in Saturday night, find th sale items and hide themselves some somewhere else so they will not miss out if they do not get there until sunday afternoon.

I've had Wags employees keep my RRs. I've left the store not realizing I didn't have my RRs and went back in and saw the clerk putting them in his pocket. I was amazed.....I imagine he makes a lot of money that way. Ever since, I ensure I get all my RRs before leaving the store.

I would report this to the Store Manager. Walgreen Employees are to tear up and throw away any register reward the customer doesn't want or leaves. Violation on this can/will result in a Employee loosing their job.
