I needed a minute to make sure I included all possible scenarios. It's up now. Multiple votes allowed.

Dh is employeed but hours have went down a lot. He applied/ is applying for a better job and there are 5 positions open. There were over 1300 applicants.
Everyone had to put in an ap then they go take a test and then they will interview 3 people for each position so out of 1300+ applicants 15 people will get interviews and 5 people will get a job.

DH's department at work is the only department in the company actually making money right now, but on orders from the top, they are cutting back hours. Starting next week, the 4 guys in the department are going on mandatory 4 day work weeks - the 60 hour weeks are now going to be closer to 48 hours.

They don't want to hire any new people in the department and all of the guys are wondering how they're going to keep up with the work with the cut hours, so we're on a wait and see if the reduction is permanent or not.

If you work from home, you are employed. You are covered.

DBF works for TDCJ and is actually moving up. There is alot of possibilities for overtime there too which is nice. I mean he can work an extra 100 hours of overtime a month no problem if he wants because they are always shorthanded.

I however have been unemployed since August. It was fine in the fall when I wasn't looking for another job at the time. Now I've applied at the library, grocery stores, etc. and nothing. We don't need the money to survive but I'd like to be able to catch up on my personal debt.

I'm very thankful that my grandfather agreed to help me out so I could pay at least for my final semester at the junior college, hoping that maybe a degree will at least give me some kind of bump on employers radar but the way it is I doubt it. :(

I SAH because there are NO teaching jobs here in Northern MI =/ Otherwise I'd be working FT.

DH is a police officer/firefighter (combo deal for the city we live in) so he will always have a job. Thankfully!!

As of this past Friday I have been unemployed for 1 year.

I worked for my DH but he decided to buy the company and needed to trim some people so he fired me last Valentines day.

Hope to be back on as the buisness picks up. I scan his files into a database.
