Mine is usually good as far as the store is concern but fast food is his downfall and we usually argue about that. So usually we do eat out take out once a week.

Reading your reply's made me think of something Chris Rock says. "His Dad worked real hard, payed all the bills. What did he get? The big piece of chicken! Momma always made sure of that!" I kid my husband about the same thing. I still try to keep the things he loves to eat in the house, because he deserves it!

Thanks for all the stories and knowing so many will do this. i have to admit...we are definitly in a much better financial situation then 4 years ago when i was not working. It was wayyyyyyy stressful, at that point (i stayed home with my DD)

I do feel that since we are both working and doing pretty well that we should splurge, once in a while.
    Thanks!

    Awwwh that's so sweet.

Once in a while if things get too hectic, I may ask DH to stop and get one or two items on his way home from work. Amazing ! He can go into the store for bread and milk and spend 25.00.....whew ! That's some costly bread and milk ! (he impulsively buys other stuff) Needless to say, I try my best to keep everything stocked so I don't need to ask him to stop.
I might also add, when I look at his receipt and the items he brings home, I might blink a couple of times, but I never say a word. I figure he works and earns the money and delegates the shopping to me. Usually, when this happens, it's a shortfall on both our parts. Me for not paying attention and letting us run out, him for not paying attention to what things cost. But hey, it's ok. It all works out to the good in the end because I more than make up for it with coupon savings and stockpiling sale items. That's the beauty of careful shopping. The money will stretch far enough to make it thru life's small glitches. Life is full of the unexpected. It's good to spend carefully so we have a little wiggle room when we need it. Sometimes that little wiggle room is just when he's in the mood for a special treat. I figure it's his reward for having to stop after an exhausting day of work. This method seems to keep it peaceful at our house. Keeps me on my shopping toes, hehe.

Well, guess what i did.....I broke down (after much whinning and diplomatic discussion from him) and bought it. It actually felt a bit freeing, knowing that i was able to buy something without a coupon, that was quite expensive (for me, anyway)

Have you did this or do you stick to your list or only buy items that are on sale or you have a coupon for it?

If i don't have a coupon and haven't seen one for the item i really want then i get it. Im not going to deprive myself of everything I want for ever just because im trying to save a 1.00 or so. I do most likely always stick to my list 99 percent of the time though.
