I do believe there is a line that crosses addiction. I do not see this made public here; I've seen screen names here promulgate on other boards.

I sit on both sides. I have cleaned off an end cap (after people have taken what they need) and resold. I, normally, do not clean off a shelf because I would not want to find the shelf empty myself. I also normally do not resell. I donated so much in 2007, we itemized our tax return.

I participated in the battery/tissue/J&J deal last December. Infact, I participated in 10/06 (which shows I am not a newbie). While we did not clean off shelves, we accumulated approximately 80 packs of batteries. I realized in 7/07 CVS was investigating why there were so many low to no o.o.p. transactions. I knew I had to stock up as much as possible while the coupons were available and stackable. I sold batteries on Ebay and we went through numerous batteries. I regret purchasing all those batteries from an environmental aspect; I do not regret the rest. People severely abused the system (made photocopies and handed out q's) ; CVS figured out the game. Coupons are sparse now and I sit here with 3+ years of stockpiles.

While I agree family sizes differ and so does their need, one has to figure out how to best maximize resources if 100 packs of batteries doesn't last 6 months.
I don't see aproblem with reselling as long as that is not one's only reason for aquiring so much stuff. I too donate alot and it seems the more I donate, the more deals I'm able to find/get. We have had a few sm. stockpile sales to help cover an unexpected bill. I think both are good uses of the bounty I've been blessed with.
