Default Anyone use Turbo Tax?

I'm tired of spending $250 to get our taxes done. I've heard a couple people talking about Turbo Tax. Anyone use it? Anyone in CA? Anyone in law enforcement? (We cop families tend to have a lot of write-offs.)

Your thoughts? The good, the bad, and the ugly please!

I've used Turbo tax online in the past & used Taxact online this year. I do 5 different returns each year for family. Never had any problems with either program -but I do not itemize - just take the standard deduction. But these programs do walk you through everything step by step so might be worth a try. My income is such that federal is free & then my state was $14 to do them & submit them online. You could try it - I've never had to actually put payment information in till I was ready to file -you can see your refund/amount owed all the way through. Good luck.

My husband works in law enforcement and he told me he is using Turbo Tax this year for his taxes. He is still figuring out the numbers and all but he said it is very easy to use, so we'll see :)

Cheers..

LOVE Turbo Tax, check your local tax website, in Va you can file for FREE no matter your income, through the Va Dept of Tax website. (well i say no matter the income, we don't qualify for anyone other free tax services as our income is too high.) And get direct deposit. Turbo tax costs us $24.00 worth every penny. We itemize and it walks you though hundreds of possible deductions.

I have used it for several years now since our accountant and then H&R block made mistakes on our taxes. It is so much cheaper and very easy to use. We don't take the standard deduction and it is very easy to itemize. Good luck!
