IRS computer glitch - efilers please read

If you prepared your taxes online or with a software program and e-filed, check your status. I checked mine since I had not received a confirmation email from the IRS, and the website stated that my return had been rejected for Error 0448. This has something to do with being age 70 or older and IRA contribution limits, so I know something was weird.

The IRS had some sort of computer glitch and from what I understand a huge amount of returns were rejected by mistake. You will need to refile if this is the case; Taxact.com did not charge me to refile.

Check this out as it may apply to you. If you e-filed through a tax preparer, I would assume you should double check that your return was accepted.

I got a rejection from Turbo Tax saying that my husband's birthday was wrong (it wasn't) so I refiled with another company this morning. Haven't gotten any kind of confirmation/rejection yet, we'll see.
