Question About Missed Coupons At Target

Several weeks ago I forgot several of my Target coupons in my car. I purchased the items anyway and then went out to the car, dropped off my bags and brought in the missed coupons to get a refund. The service person had trouble getting the credit to go through - I figured it was because it was Target coupon, not manufacturer coupons? Anyway, I asked if I could go and get the items and do a return/repurchase. They let me do that. Fine and dandy. So a couple of days ago I forget a few Target coupons again (yes, I am an idiot like that). I go out to my car and this time bring the items back to do a return/repurchase. This time they said that was not allowed. That they would have to return the items to the floor before I could repurchase. So I just returned the items (some clearanced clothing). So which way is correct? They now have me very confused. I did go back in today and hunt down my same items and repurchase them.

I had trouble the first time that I used the $5/2 Revlon beauty tools Target coupon. I went to Customer service and she fixed it. Another time, I forgot to give 2 IP's for clothing. I went to customer service and she immediately fixed it. This was only a couple of weeks ago.

Strange that they made extra work for themselves!

Target is a mixed bag for me. As far as I underSTOOD so long as you go same day it is not an issue for either kind of coupon. I found out earlier this week that you can go next day without issue however when I tried this a while ago I was told the same thing about some clearance jeans(having to go back to floor) and asked for a manager who said "it's ok put them through".

I think it just depends on who you get at the desk. I know my local store has a pair of old bitties it's best to avoid at all cost. It's like it's such a hassle for them to do their jobs, imagine processing a return at customer service!:P

When it comes to Target return policy on Clearance yes they were right, clearance items that are returned must be allowed to be put back onto the shelves before you repurchase them so it gives people the equal opportunity to purchase them also since there is no price adjustments on clearance items this is a way for people to create a loophole to getting the lower price. People try to return an item that they purchased at 50% off once they go 75% off. The only reason I could think you had trouble redeeming your Target coupons after the fact was probably because with their new system when you use a target coupon the price of the item gets adjusted so in case you return an item. Once a transaction is complete it can't adjust the price of the item.Next time if they won't allow you to redeem your coupons ask for a manager.
