I don't understand this "rule" about gift cards and BOGO coupons

Two weeks ago, I tried to use the Schick BOGO razor coupon. I didn't know that you received a $5 gift card when you bought two Schick razors. The cashier said I could not use that coupon because I was receiving the gift card.

I don't understand. One was a Target promotion and the other a manufacturer coupon, right? I _should_ have been able to do both, right?

I dont think the cashier new what she was talking about. I would call and talk to mtg about it or go back and do it..

2 nights ago, I did the Deodorant, buy 4 get a $5 gc.

I did 2 separate transactions just to be sure with my BYGO Q's. But It worked!

If there is something in their policy disallowing it, I'm not seeing it. My Target let me do this deal using both the BOGO and a coupon for cents off the buy one.

One thing I am familiar with is Target Policy and I know they are not right. The computer prompts for the giftcard first and then you hand her the coupon and she scans it. Sometimes the computer will say the item is not there but the only reason it says that is because it wants the cashier to double check the item and the coupon. But if the coupon guidelines are followed and you have the right items there is NO reason why they should denie it, ask to speak to the manager and they can take a look at it. Take back your receipt and the coupon.
