Target Printables Vent

The last two times I've been to Target I've found some excellent store/manuf. stacking deals, but BOTH times, I came home only to notice that one of the two coupons wasn't applied to my transaction.

The other day I found Herbal Essences conditioner on clearance for $1.48. I was super excited because I had a Target printable and a manufacturers coupon, each for $1/1, so I thought I'd be getting it for free. But when I got home, I noticed that on the bottom of the receipt where the coupons are listed, there was one too few $1 coupons listed. I used a couple of others in the same shopping trip for different items, and one of them hadn't been applied. I was confused because when I was checking out, it seemed like all of them had worked. I didn't know which one had been missed, but after what happened today I'm thinking it was the target internet printable.

I went again today with two stacking deals: A1 and CoverGirl cosmetics. The A1 coupon was another internet printable, and the CoverGirl Target coupon was one that came in the 5/22 inserts. Once again, everything seemed to go through at checkout, but when I got out to the car I realized one of the A1 coupons hadn't been applied. That was when I began thinking that the issue may be with the Target internet printables.

Assuming that the first time it was the Herbal Essences and not another one of my coupons that didn't work, I'm wondering if there's a problem stacking the internet printables with manuf. coupons. There wasn't a problem with the stacking the insert coupon with the manuf. coupon, both of those were clearly shown on my receipt. I'm just frustrated because I noticed too late, but also because I feel like Target's coupon policy may not be entirely clear. I assumed stacking was completely fine unless one of the coupons specifically said it wasn't, and many Target coupons even SAY that they can be used in conjunction with a manuf. coupon.

Anywho, that is my vent. If you know more about this than I do, feel free to shed some light on Target's coupon practices if you know a little more about them than I do.

Well it's hard to read the target reciepts....but they were having issues a while back but they seemed to have resolved.

Probably what I would do is give them the product...give them the coupons..watch the coupons and make sure they come off the amount. Give another product, give the coupons...and so on.

Target does not give overage so that may have been the issue with your first transaction. I am not sure though. I can tell you that you can stack a Target and Mfg coupon. I do it all the time with coupons that can be used stacked. When checking out if you watch the register when using a Target coupon, you will see 00.00 not the coupon amount and then when you look at the receipt you will see the coupon amount taken off so the amount of the product is less (amount after the Target coupon). If the mfg coupon links to the product, it will be below the item and stated as taking off that product). Those that do not attach to a product are shown at the bottom of the receipt. HTH. I am going from memory, so if not clear, I will grab a receipt and explain it better.

Sometimes the Target coupons actually reduce the price that the item shows as ringing on the receipt. I've had it where something will cost $2.99, and I use a $1/1 Target coupon so my receipt will say the item was $1.99.

I did check my receipts, some of the coupons were listed directly under the item and others were listed at the bottom, but the total still came up short on both receipts compared to what coupons I knew I had. I was charged $0.48 for the conditioner when it should have been free, and $2.39 for the A1 when it should have been $1.39

Maybe it would be a good idea to show a receipt as an example, that would help understand how Target does it, because it can be confusing, you don't know if it actually was taken off.

I had been giving my coupons at the end, and that's only because my boyfriend felt better doing it like that, I personally would do it after the cashier scans each product, so they can see it and not have to pull out merchandise, just making the whole thing seem longer.

If anyone wants to put a receipt here, and show what is what, that would be great!

I feel cheated lol, when the correct amount isn't removed and I say this because with every day life, you have to find the time in between to match things up, its more work than one thinks lol. Sorry that seemed like a mini vent lol

Mine sometimes doesn't show on my receipts, but if I add up my total to what it should be, it matches. It is very, very strange.

Target receipts are really hard to understand especially when you use their printable coupons. I also watch for the 00.00 when they scan their web coupons.

I also have a calculator with me and tend to add up my order & take off all the coupons so I know approximately what I'll be spending before I get to the register.

I have never completely understood why some of the MQs match up under their products and others come off at the bottom. It sure would make life a lot easier if they were listed under the product they came off of or all at the bottom so you don't get confused.

The other thing is to make sure you go over your receipt before (imperative!) you leave the store. This way, you can go to CS and have them adjust it right away; if there is a discrepancy, they can easily pull the cashier's coupon bag and straighten out any issues right then and there.

i've only used coupons there twice(just found out about them!) and stacked as well. the receipt is odd, not sure what they took off or where, but i also knew what the total should be and that's what it was. they even took a 3rd coupon for one of my items... :).
