I already bought the 2 items I wanted online this morning, the Shark steam mop for $49 and the Nikon digital camera for $79. Everything except the "door busters" is already available at the BF prices on the website. No need to battle the crazies tomorrow!

Does anyone here know if you can get the $50 gift card for purchasing the Xbox, if you buy it online? I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere.

I too have a GC double dipping question... because I got in the mail an offer for get a $15 GC for spending $150 in-store. So... if I go tomorrow and spend $200 (which I am planning to do) I am debating whether it's better to split into 2 orders for $100 each (I have a friend who is going along) OR buy the $200 of stuff and use my $15 GC WYB $150, receiving $25 in GC. It seems from this GC offer coupon I have that I can do both, so I'm going to give it a try!

The way I read the thing about not valid on GC was that you can't buy $100 in GC and get the $10 GC. (or you can't count any purchase of GC toward your $100 purchase) That's usually how those deals are, because then you're basically just getting extra GC. You can pay with a GC and get the $10 GC, I see no reason why you couldn't do that. And I think you get the $50 GC for buying the Xbox and the $10 GC for the $100 purchase, no problem. By the time we find out I suppose it will be too late...

Gotta give props to target for having the fastest moving lines that I stood in yesterday.
And for being well stocked on the movies. I got pretty much all that I wanted!

And my fellow shoppers were very nice too. :)

Thumbs Up My Target Black Friday experience

I went yesterday (Black Friday) with a friend; we showed up at our Target at 1:15 AM and the line was already 3/4 down the length of the building. We plopped down and got ready to wait until the opening at 4 AM. As we waited, we watched the line get longer...and longer...and longer...until it finally looped all the way around the parking lot.

The Chik-Fil-A cow came by to say hello, and the Target folks were out and about handing out maps, urging us not to push and shove, etc. At about 3:45 AM, they asked everyone to go put their chairs, blankets, tents (yes, the people in front of us had a pop-up tent!), and stuff away, which meant we were actually only halfway down the side of the building, yay!

We noticed a LOT of people hanging about in the parking lot, giving those of us in line the evil eye. Target had set up crowd control barriers and the Target guy walking up and down the line assured us that they'd be letting us in single-file through one door only. The people hanging around the parking lot grumbled a lot about this. Sure enough, when they opened the only door at 4 AM, a bunch of the parking lot folks tried to push into line. Sadly for them, they were soundly rebuked and turned away by the Target folks (backed up by a police officer, heh).

As we entered, I looked over to the main doors, which remained locked. The very large crowd standing at those doors looked steaming mad as they watched those of us who'd waited file in happily and make the run to electronics and other departments.

The electronics area was PACKED. The horde of people trying to get in was terrible and unfortunately, things weren't as well-organized back there as they'd been outside. I waited approximately 85 minutes to get to the electronics cash register, and I was only about 25 people or so back in the line! Most everyone was polite though, commiserating about Black Friday and wondering if we were all insane for being in yet another line at 5 AM just so we could get a few more dollars off.

I finally got my Xbox 360, as did a bunch of other people. We were all nervously looking at the dwindling number of boxes at the register, hoping we'd actually get to buy one. I was able to use the $75 in GCs I'd gotten from my rewards points (through my credit union) to pay for part of the Xbox, and still get the $50 GC for buying the system, as well as the $10 for spending more than $100. As we headed out the door, we found the end of the checkout line, which was wrapped entirely around the store. Thank heavens we were able to check out at electronics!

Mad props to Target for the way they handled the people lined up outside; even though the electronics department was a bit of a mess, it was still worth it. I had fun chatting with my fellow Black Friday nuts, got the Xbox 360 I needed, and scored with the GCs. I'm pretty happy about my experience, which was way better than what happened to us at Toys R Us and Walmart.

Well again it's too late now, but I did in fact get $25 in GC by using my $15 GC w $150 purchase and purchasing over $100. Spent $175 in one order and had a friend ring up one of my items with her order so she could get the $10 GC too and she gave it to me. So, spent $225 there but I got a lot of stuff. I showed up at 3:45 and yes, the line was all the way across the parking lot. I was amazed they had security keeping people (beyond the first 30 or so) from line jumping to get in. The check out line to get out was 60 minutes of waiting, but that was all the way across the store and they were really getting us through fast. The other thing I was amazed at is that all of my coupons rang up without a hitch. I had a few qs expiring that I wanted to use there so I figured "I'm there anyway, why not?" I got some Dial foaming soap, Suave kids bodywash, Baked Lays and Rold Gold Pretzels, all with q combos that I wasn't sure if they would beep/stop or not. Especially the Suave Kids 3 in 1 body wash, I wasn't sure since it was in the shampoo section if the $0.75/2 Suave Bodywash would work on it. I've had Target say "item not found" when it was the exact item. I wonder if they somehow "loosened" up their software just for BF? Oh well, it was good.
