Using the $3/3 Band Aid Coupon

Can anyone help me interpret the $3/3 off Band Aid coupon? I've tried using it for travel sizes band-aids, but my local target won't accept them.

Here's the exact words:
Save $3.00 on any 3
Buy 1 Band Aid brand adhesive bandages and/or 1 neosporin original ointment and/or 1 purrell instant hand sanitizer (8 fl oz or larger) and/or 1 cortaid product and/or johnson & johnson red cross brand product

Target insists that the coupon should be interpreted that I needed to buy three of the following - Band Aid, Johnson & Johnson, Neosporin, Purrell and Cortaid. So buying 3 band aids would not work.

However, I've been reading that people have been using this Q for band aids only without problems. So what's going on?
