I'd forward that email to the reporters who did this news story. See what Target says then.

I think the coupon processing center needs to refuse Target reimbursement on all $/2 or more coupons until they can prove that the customer got the full amount or that their system is fixed. I bet that would put a fire under their butts.
Many times they treat us like criminals when properly using coupons and now we know they are the ones doing the dirty deed.

HOT Re: News Story: Target Accused Of Ripping Off Coupon Users

Yep, same thing happend to me with Pampers. I had a $3/1 Pampers diapers Q, and $2 off wipes. The $2/1 attached to the diapers and the $3/1 was reduced to $1.99 (the price of the wipes). So I was jipped $1.01!! I noticed this started happening when that $2/1 Pampers wipes Q was out...at the beginning of the month it was BEEP "Item not Here" (because the wipes were only $1.99), cashier would have to "Accept anyway", then after about a week of this, I noticed the coupon went through at $1.99. I didn't much care, as I was getting the wipes for free, but I did wonder if P&G knew that Target was doing that...giving customers $1.99 when they were getting the full $2 back? Now, I'm very careful about my transactions...I'm in there almost everyday (it's on my way home), buying only a few things at once and try not to do the same brands in one transaction...so far this is working, but it's a HASSLE to do this. I will ask them from now on to adjust the price and if they refuse I'm going to have them void the item.

What happened was the wipes coupons attached to the diapers...so only 3 of the wipe coupons even worked...and then the diaper coupons attached to the wipes...and since the wipes were only $2.00 and change...it didn't take the full amount off of the coupon.

I wasn't trying to get any $5.00 gc deal or anything like that (the razor deals are causing similar issues).

to me it's blatant coupon fraud. They darn well know there register's are not working right...and then they are sending those coupons to the manufacture and getting properly reimbursed. To me that is coupon fraud.

I have a super target a mile from my house and another about 6 miles , do i go ? heck no!... not only do the coupons not ring up right but they never give me my green bag credits, and also on a g/c deal i did it twice to get 2 cards... (been a long time ) but when i went to use the cards there was NO balance on them.... so i said screw me once shame on you screw me twice shame on me! and have not been back! and my son in St. Louis calls Walmart the evil empire! (union state) they may hassel you on a coupon or 2 but they dont blatantly cheat you!

I went to target today and got a few items including some vics dayquil clearanced for $1.44ea I had Qs for $1.50 when the cashier scanned them they automatically scanned -$1.44.
Not like I'm irrate about .30 (bought 5 bottles) BUT they are going to be getting that FULL $1.50 + $.08 from the mftr. How does that work?

I realize its not the same issue in the article but I thought this forum would be the best place to bring it up.

I dunno, must be regional because I have never had it happen to me in central Texas. I have 3 Target stores that I shop at and they all give me the correct amount off with my coupons.
Now I do pay attention as the coupons are being scanned, and I do double check my receipt before I leave the store.

What is so confusing about the receipt? It makes more sense to me than how other stores do it. Coupons for the items are listed right below that item rather than a hodgepodge of amounts at the bottom of the receipt.

Frankly my local HEB commits more coupon fraud than my local Target does. It has happened to me several times that they take my coupons and don't scan them and in the chaos that is shopping with young children I miss it till I get home, then it is too late. I have also had them refuse to accept a coupon then refuse to give it back to me. I have stopped shopping there.

Not all coupons are doing it. The huggies thing I went through...I probably used 50 other coupons just fine...but those ones got messed up.

Your regular cents off coupon won't necessarily be the issue in other words.

the thing your describing with HEB is a cashier doing it wrong...with TARGET the cashier really isn't doing anything wrong...the cash register that corporate target controls is. they have either purposely programed them wrong...or they accidentally programed them wrong and are now ignoring it because it makes them more money...thus the fraud allegations.
