Call corporate and tell them... Overage is a YMMV.. Target in their coupon policy does not allow overage. They can adjust the amount down and that is all/
I live in Texas and I have tried on several occasions to use coupons for one dollar and the product is .97cents and they won't take the coupon. This happened to me on yesterday at target when I was trying to buy st ives body wash in the sample isle and the coupon had no size limit on it. How do you guys get the clerks to use the overage coupons??

You can call corporate but sometimes that does no good either. I have been told it is up to the manger if they will take the coupon. I even had in my hot little hands a copy of the coupon policy and corporate customer service also talked to the front supervisor and I was still told NO!!!!!!! So the whole coupon being over the amount of the item is a YMMV not just on the trail size. :shrug7:
Yeah, I don't even bother with this, especially at Target.

I've never had an issue with it BUT I never try to get sample size to get the overage.

I have tried to use the tide $1 off ANY size for the trial size and they would not let me use it either, and they said that they could not adjust it down. They used to allow overage but not anymore.
I called corp the next morning and they called the store. Their policy is they can mark it down but it sounds like they are refusing your q.
One store near me pushes it through, the other refuses to take the coupon at all. Even after I showed them a copy of the policy where they can adjust it down. Overage is a huge ymmv and it is not in the policy to give it.
They refused my q again this weekend! I called the corp office and it did no good today. I give up on Target (again). It is not worth the headache.
I think it really depends on the store. I've only had a problem with this once and the manager was really rude about it. All the other times (and it's been many), the cashier just pushed it through. Whenever I'm concerned about if a q will be accepted, I'll find a manager at the CS desk before I even start shopping and ask. Thus far, they've been very nice and have worked with me but as with everything, YMMV. If the manager is uncool with it, you're unlikely to get your deal.
