    New math?

I am very frustrated by Target seemingly inability to do simple math. Their receipts make no sense. Last time I went to CS, they could not figure it out either. This one the amount is small and there should be overage on it so I do not want to cause issues with that by saying something but it makes me mad.

    I bought 2 Dr. peppers-
    .79
    -.25 man q
    .10 deposit
    -------------
    1.28

    6 light bulbs @ 2.78
    -1.00 man q on 5
    -1.50 man q on 1
    -2.00 target q on each
    ------------------------
    -1.82 overage

    1 light bulb @2.72
    -2.00 target q
    ----------------
    .72

    2 Nivia body wash @ 2.99
    -2.00 man q
    -1.00 target q
    ------------------
    -.02

so I think my total before tax would be .16

    instead it is 2.16,

Ok writing in out now I see on $2.00 q did not come off. GrrRRRR

without overage it should have been $2.00, So I got the overage but was shorted on q? everything is on the receipt-

Does this stuff irritate anyone else! I know it is only two dollars but it is MY two dollars!

(I guess I need to brush up on my math skills too! )

You have to watch your receipts. The cashier will scan every coupon, you will see them all on the screen, and some won't come off. I had this problem the other day with the Electrasol. 2 of my $2.50 coupons didn't come off. I went right back to the register and they did the fix right there (better at register than CS because the coupons are there and that cashier just rang you up).

I also have come to carefully scrutinize my receipts before I leave the store because it's all too often that even though I watch every single coupon scan and watch it come off on the screen, when I get my receipt, one or some are missing. And the Target employees here have major attitudes and act like you're inconveniencing them to get your money back....what about MY inconvenience?? I have cut my Target trips down to about 2 a month now. For me, stuff like this has become more hassle than what it's worth. Sorry you lost your $2. That is so frustrating.

We call it "crazy coupon math." I hand over coupons in batches of like coupons together - it's my money until I hand it over. I watch the total go down to where it should be. I also know what my total should be before and after coupons (including tax) so that if the total is off, I know that I need to question it. I always look over the receipt before I leave, but take a lot less time doing it if the total jives with my "crazy coupon math!"

If you don't have time to figure out your balance as you're walking around the store then the easiest thing to do is count how many q's you have b/f you hand them over. Then you can easily skim your receipt and make sure they're all accounted for. I too have noticed this happen at Target and I think it's a little shady. But I'm not a fan of them anyways!

speaking of this, i plan to get the nivea wash w/ the 2 q's giving an overage of 0.01, do i need to buy something else or can it (the q) just be adjusted down to .99 to leave the subtotal at 0 and just pay tax???

According to their coupon policy, they should adjust it down. But some target stores are really annoying, make sure u have a copy of their coupon policy with u at all times when shopping their b/c they could get really annoying. I got mine from e-mailing them about a year ago and i heard that u could print it off from the store where the registries are but i'm not sure about that
