Today was a horrible day at Target.![]()
Store #1 rejected ALL of my Qs because when they were scanned the computer said, "No item found." I had ALL the items. I had double checked wording, expiry dates, etc because I'm nervous at Target anyway and wanted to have no trouble. The cashier and manager spent a good 20 minutes scrutinizing every single item and every single Q. They re-read everything 3 times trying to come up with a reason why they could reject my Qs. Tried to tell me the item I was purchasing was too small, when the Q said "ANY SIZE." The manager even told me because the packaging of one item was different from the PICTURE on the coupon that the register knew this and thus would not accept it!I had 3 types of Qs (inserts, Target, and printables) and none of them went through without that message so clearly something was wrong with the system. Manager INSISTED they could not do any overrides or price adjustments. Another example: I wanted to purchase the clearanced Method hand soap (for 1.48) using a $2 Q, and they claimed they could not price adjust the Q down. I asked why the register gave them the option, then. Good grief! I even produced my printed copy of the Q policy and they still would not budge.
I argued my way up to the store general manager and finally gave up, purchasing nothing and driving to the next Target 15 minutes away. Same thing. I could not believe it! So very frustrating. Again I argued and again I got the same treatment. Went to the car and called Target Corp. Explained what had happened. They asked me to walk back inside and hand the phone to the manager. I did. After a convo with manager, Target Corp rep got back on the line with me and explained that I was right and the employees / managers were wrong. They ***can*** override Qs that do not scan, they ***can*** price adjust down, they ***can*** manually enter Qs.
I checked out again, finally, and my Qs were accepted. I'm glad I persisted as I definitely felt vindicated, but honestly, I wish I'd never gone there. The whole thing took 3 hours and zapped my emotional energy. I have no desire to set foot in Target again. Except to go back to the first store and have Target Corp talk to that manager too!
Can anybody relate? It's such a downer to spend all that time planning and preparing Qs, and then be away from my kids to go to the store, to have all my deals rejected, my time wasted, and be treated like I'm an idiot. :sad:

I can relate but with the scenerio only. My worst store is Food Lion. My target here is usually super friendly and always K1's the coupons through. I did have a problem with a publix marked manu. coupon but I just said okay and left my candles there as I didn't need the candles that bad. I hate to see people having trouble with using coupons.:sad:
I had that happen the other day...5 qs, 5 items with one person behind me, by the time they were done there were 4 people in line. It was a new cashier and she was hitting Target coupons and NONE worked, these weren't even trial size items, the REAL DEAL. manager came over and said she was in the wrong screen. At first before he figured it out, he told her to manually enter them, he looked them over and saw no reason for the problem, then he did a double take and saw SHE was the cause.
Next time it happens, just politely ask if they're in the area for MANU coupons, or store coupons. May save you some trouble!

Oh no..I have yet to have that happen. My Target has always been really good about not even blinking when the coupon comes up "no item found" ..they just over ride it. Sorry that happened to yo but good for you for being persistant!!!
i never had problems in fl when i was using q's for over the amount, but here in ca they won't even think about it...so frustrating...
I had the problem with the overage on the Buddie Bars. I pulled out a copy of the Target policy and that was enough for them. But they did say, "Well, we aren't allowed adjust the coupons down... that's just for some stores." and "We've had alot of coupon fraud at this store."
Whatever.

oh yes. The Tide $1 off any size, i got the travel size. Of course q beeps, they need to adjust it down. But their reasoning, it's not the item pictured. So i point out that it say's ANY, nope, still won't take it. I really don't like them sometimes.
I did the Tide Q just fine at my ST. It beeped, she looked it over, I explained it said ANY and she pushed it through. I've kinda marked those who aren't Coupon Friendly for the most part. The only problem is all the darn new cashiers!! LOL
