Default Updated Price Match Policy...

Just thought I'd let you all know that Target has updated their Price Match policy again.

Now the Target coupon will be applied BEFORE the Price Match and if after the Target coupon the price is still higher than the Price Match, then they will Price Match to the competitors price.

The whole thing doesn't make any sense to me, because either way, you're still going to get the competitor's price, so why bother with the Target coupon in the first place?

Target : Company : FAQs

The only reason to Price Match there now will be if the competitor is sold out or if Target is closer to you than the competitor.

Thanks for sharing. With all of the recent changes, I think I am finished with Target shopping. It's not worth the drive anymore.

Well, glad I bought the stuff I wanted on friday cause it would have not been worth it to buy from them after that policy. I got the leapfrog TAG that is 39.99 at toys r us and with the TQ and the MQ after matching it came to 19.99 but if they applied their coupon first the price would be 39.99 minus $10 mq, If that is the case why would I bother pricematching rather than go to the store who has the sales? The new policy also says that they might verify stock at the store you want to pricematch and my guess is if they are Out of stock they won't price match. So I guess I will only IF they have something on sale and with the MQ and TQ makes it a decent deal. Price matching is not worth it anymore.

Geez~Thanks Target for making something that should have been simple and making it not worth the effort. I guess that was their intention to begin with!

That makes no sense. You want to attract customers by saying you'll PM, but now there's all these rules. Great way to drum up business.

What a bummer. Their new policy doesn't seem logical to me either. Bummer.

It isn't worth the effort to try and PM there with all these rules. I prefer shopping at Target over Walmart however I did a PM at Walmart the other day for the TRU $3.99 doorbuster Mr. Potato head and it was SO easy. Guess I will be giving Walmart all my PMing business.

What I find most ironic or irritating about this, is that with all these exclusions people aren't going to use Target's PMing. And I'm sure Target will put out a statement as they did after their trial run of PMing that it must be because their prices are rarely beat.

I think I'll send them an email to let them know how I feel about it. I don't expect them to change the policy b/c of what I say, but at least I'm letting them know what I think about the new policy. Might paste Wal-Marts policy in there to give them something to work from....LOL
