To the pp that posted about having deals handed to me, I do not expect that. I do a lot of hard work and research to get the deals I get. IMO the biggest problem with Target's price matching policy is this sentence in your post: Much of Target is YMMV whether its one Target IP or a clearance price or whatever.

Target is a corporate store. There should be no YMMV. The policies should be laid out in black and white and made clear for customers & employees. Target is a mess, they make policies up on the fly and shopping there usually leaves me shaking my head in frustration & disbelief.

Also, my other issue with Target and BF is that Wal-Mart and other stores are PM'ing that day. Plus, with Target's PM policy of the week (as it seems to be) the way their PM policy works now with q's means that in some cases the best you could do would be to get the same price (not being allowed to use a Target q). At that rate, why not just go to the other store in the first place?

I know this is you opinion and valid as anyone else's but the fact is Walmart does PM on BF. Off course, there are things you will ONLY find at X or Y store but for the most part, when it comes to some electronics and MOST ALL toys, you can PM at walmart, unless it is a B1g1 or only states % off but if the ad says a toy is say 9.99 Walmart will sale it to you for 9.99. I know a lot of people that look through ads and then PM at Walmart. They would normally rather go to target but on BF they do a ONE stop at walmart. And YES, I understand it is their choice how they handle their PM policy but truth be told, it really does not make much sense to not PM the ONE day every store puts awesome ads out and tons of people are seeking the best deals and are faced with time/quantity limits which means they will choose the place that offers them the most convinience and best deals. I don't know everyone else but they didn't even have anything wow that I cannot PM at Walmart and therefore get both their deals and Walmarts deals in ONE stop.

This is pretty much industry standard. Few stores will price match their BF ads and sales. Read the fine print on many of the ads, and it's all in there.

As much as I'd like to think that ANY corporate store has one policy and one way to deal with things, its not true. Read through any store subforum or the HUTC threads and you will see that every store has a YMMV based on what cashier, manager, etc is working and how they decide to interpret the rules.

It seems to me you just want to fuss about Target not doing what you want. Retail and other services are all about being able to deny whatever they want. Its their choice to sell you items, allow you to use coupons, etc. Target could decide to just not sell you anything with no reason whatsoever. Yeah you could probably sue them and make a stink, but in the end they are a private business and don't need a reason to deny you the purchase of whatever you wanted. Same with McDs, the grocery store, RA, etc.

I don't think having to know the rules of the game makes it that much harder. At least you have HCW to find out the rules. Imagine how hard it was back in the day without the internet and thousands of other people to talk to about such things.

In the end no matter how much we want to flatter ourselves that they will miss out on our business if we go elsewhere its simply not true. For every person who boycotts Target due to their policies a dozen others will shop there due to no other option.

I'm not arguing with you because I don't agree they should have a simple policy and stick to it. I think they should but its not going to happen. It hasn't so far and from the looks of it, they are only going to make it harder from here. But having been on the flipside of the coin and having to deny people coupon usage or purchases there are always two sides to the story. I'm just asking you think about how much you are asking for when they don't have to take coupons at all.
