Did I do the Qs wrong? Re: Glade Deal

Last night I did the Glade GC deal for the first time. I had 5 holders and 5 refills. I used (5) 1.50/1 Holder Qs and (5) Free Refills WYB Holder up to 3.99 value. I also used an employee discount.

Everything rang through fine and I was given (2) $5 Gift Cards.

Today I went back and tried again, 10 products, 10 coupons but I was refused. The same supervisor who rang me through last night told me today that I could only use 1 Target Q and 1 Manf Q per purchase. I tried to explain that I had 10 items and 10 coupons, but she said "no way".

I'm not sure what the heck her problem was today, but she started making comments about "how much do you need???", and similar as well. After I walked away from the register she came up and said, "You aren't going to return these are you?" and said something else that basically implied fraud. I'm not sure what she was talking about, but I explained that I would be keeping my products.

I'm just really frustrated. I have a lot of the coupons I'd like to use, but cannot afford to pay $18+ out of pocket every time a cashier gets pissy.

I'm thinking I got treated a little snotty by this supervisor because she knows I'm an employee and not a regular customer.

So, aside from the rant, I guess the final question is: Is it ok to use the 1.50/1 Qs and Free WYB Qs if I do the transaction like I did the first time? Is there something I can point to if I get refused again?

Yes, it is totally fine to use the Q's in the combo you did.

I think you're right...she rejected them because you're an employee (so she can treat you badly without consequences) and she seems to think she has the right to determine how many items you need! LOL!

Can you go back and shop when she won't be there? Or shop at another store? I think that would be the fastest and easiest way to get what you want. No confrontation and lots of yummy candles!

My only other suggestion is to take a copy of the Target coupon policy with you. Good luck!

If both are mfr q's then that scenario is a big YMMV. Some cashiers see it as a doubledip even though it's legit.

Yes, both were manf. Thanks for the heads up. I just didn't understand why she was ok with it one time and not the other. Come to think of it, the first time she let me do it, she may not have known I was an employee yet. I work at 4am, so I don't see many of the regular employees before I get off.

Here is where she it totally misinformed. She is under the impression that a 1 per purchase and 1 per transaction are the same thing and we all know that it is not.
Second she is saying 1 man q per item Guess what if you get 10 candles and 10 refills and you use 10 $1.50/1 q's and 10 free wyb q's that = 20 q's.

I honestly thing she needs some education on proper coupon use as well as some customer services skills. Regardless if you are an employee or not it doesn't give her the right to talk to you like that. If you want my opinion I would go to her supervisor and tell them what she said. They might not be aware of her "attitude" problem.

It's totally up to the cashier. Some are thrilled you got a deal and others are saying you can't use the coupons. I don't argue with them anymore. I just ask for my coupons back and walk away. I'm found it's not worth my time dealing with them or with corporate. The next time I go in, I make it a point to go to someone different. Nine times out of ten, there isn't a problem.

I was previously a GSTL @ Target... I was with Target for 7yrs and then I decided to stay at home. I see nothing wrong with your coupon usage. I did the same thing last week. You should talk to your HR about her additude. That is completely unacceptable!!!! I get so mad when I see things like this.. You have ppl that claim to know there job but in all reality, THEY DON'T. It's there own policy not a Target policy.

I had the same problem at my closest target store I don't work there but the customer service guy that watches the cashiers like a hawk came up to me and said I could only use one coupon for all of my things after seeing the cashier hand me 2 $5 gift cards. I told him that I could use one q per item and he made up a story about the store is aloud to limit the coupons anyway it wants .I asked to see something in writing since it's a new policy , he said he didn't have it but that is a new policy and the store a couple miles down the road is accepting 2 like coupons so I took my q's and left.I called another store and they said as long as it is one man and or 1 target q per item it is fine and there is no limit so I went and had no problem I called corp because I wasted an hour and a half at the first store and he gave me that story I was told that target has 1 coupon policy that is available on there website and each store cannot make up there own rules he made a report and apologized and said he will correct this with the store.Sorry about the long story .Sorry this happened to you but she shouldn't treat you like that .At that time you were a paying customer like anyone else .she shouldn't talk to you like that

I wouldn't even do it at the store you work at...

I worked at a certain retail store for 7 years, yes 7 YEARS, and was FIRED one day for using an enfamil check with an enfamil catalina in the same transaction!!!
