why do you need to use a coupon on the nut clusters if they are free? why do we need to give them our coupon?

You don't need to. Some ppl use a coupon on FREE items. YMMV as far as the coupon being accepted.

My thinking is that it's not giving them the coupon since you still get the $ off. It's just another way to lower the cost of the other items.
