About 1 year ago, I had a problem with Target and coupons. Same scenarios as most of you all had and never shopped with them again. And I use to give them lots and lots of business. I found their customer service lacking and when I was made to feel like I was "stealing" for using coupons (target and mfg on items) that was my last straw.

Sounds like Target will never figure out how to handle coupons correctly!

The cashiers would not take IP coupons, even their own store coupons. I asked the cashier to call a manager over as I knew they would accept at least their own IPs. The manager did not show up and I canceled the order after waiting 10 minutes. I was not going to pay full price when I knew they took their own IPs. I stopped at the CS desk on the way out to find out the manager's name and number to call later, since the cashier refused to give the information. I called on two occassions and was not able to speak to the manager. I have since stopped shopping at the store.

I hate when the cashiers argue with you. I don't mind if they make a mistake, but when they argue about something you KNOW their wrong about....the last time at Target, I had 3-$3 coupons.(2 of them were the Vocalpoint Kashi q's) She just kept scanning the stack, and nothing was coming off. I had to tell her 3 times. Then, when she was finally done, I pointed out that only one of the $3 q's had registered. She said "No,they all did". After getting no where w/ her, I just said fine and went over to the CSD and got $6 in cash back. Believe me, all my coupons are planned out and carefully organzied. I know what I have... I thought "how would she like if I just took $6 out of her purse?" That's basically what she's doing to me....

I just don't get it. Do the cahiers get in trouble if they use the wrong coupon? Some stores are great, while others aren't. Then even within a store some cahiers are very coupon happy while others are not so much. I'm lucky enought o have 3 Targets that are either close to my home, work, or on the way home. The 1 by my house is ok however I have to make sure I look for a coupon friendly cashier. While the other 2 stores I've had no issues... So go figure... I always follow the rules, and if the cashiers try to feed me a line I don't argue I just ask them to take the product off that they aren't going to accept a coupon for. Sometimes at that point I get the line ok I'll let you use these coupons today but next time I won't allow you to. Seriously... Then why did we just have this conversation...

My family used to own a clothing store. So, we didn't have to deal with coupons. But, if I had a store that did have to deal with coupons, I don't think I would take IP coupons. That's Dollar General's policy. Even though they are a pretty big chain, their stores typically do not accept IP coupons.

I tend not to use IP coupons anymore because you never know. I had printed some from a pdf. which at the time I was new to couponing and did not know that in most cases pdf's are fraudulant. For me I will just stick with inserts, tearpads and peelies.
