I've been doing some price matching at Target. The only problem with this is that when you take it to customer service after you buy it, assuming you've already used your GM $1 target qs, it will only take off the target price LESS THE $1 Target q. and the only way to remedy that would be for them to add the walgreens price of 1.99 LESS the same $1. confused? here's an example:

let's say target's coco puffs are $3 and you use the target GM q of $1.
when they go to price match , they deduct the NET price of the coco puffs, after target qs, or $2 , and add the walgreens price of $1.99. they give you a penny back??? they get all confused about it when you tell them the only way to make it balance is to deduct that same $1 to the other side, or deduct $1 from walgreens price, or make the wag price .99 instead of 1.99.

the solution to this might be to just NOT use your target GM $1 q until after they do the price adjustment! i thought of this after I spent 45 minutes in customer service trying to get Dreyer's ice cream for 2.49, Randall's price. THat was the week before target put dreyer's on sale for 2.50 each...little did i know! After asking several target managers, I think they finally got the store manager, who said "oh Randalls has a loyalty card, so you can't price match anyway". but they ended up doing it anyway, "just this once", which is too bad as i could have saved my $1 dreyer's coupons for the following week when we got a $5 gc !

okay I'm back. I checked out at customer service, so they would adjust the price while scanning each item. I had no problems at all, in fact they even adjusted the Fiber One cereal boxes I bought because they were within the size limit on the Walgreens sales flyer. (flyer says General Mills Cereal 11.5 to 14 oz, and the Fiber One boxes were 12 oz.)

Do I understand this right/ Do you go to custumer service and check out there or do you check out at a regular register and then go to CS to show them WG add? Thanx

I did check out at customer service. I didn't trust that the cashiers would know what to do, so I went to CS and showed the ad first and they price adjusted as they scanned the items.


I did still get my gift card from the Fiber One deal!
