Default P&G email about whitestrips

Hello, I'm a long time lurker :-) and an avid couponer...I know that just another day I saw a post on here about someone emailing P&G regarding the use of the $7 coupon on the $5 trial whitestrips and they got a positive response. I can't find that thread again...can someone link me please??? I'd appreciate it. Thanks!!!

I would like to see a copy also. Although my Target pulled the product. It was there for less than a week, I got about 8 boxes while it lasted though. Now I have that many $7 q's!!

Be on the lookout for the boxes after the coupon expires. A cashier at the store I go to said that they have them holding in the office so no one accidently puts them out on the floor. I really don't think that is right. I mean, they get their money back from the manufacturer.

I'd love to see this also.

went today and my target still had plenty out and even pushed my $7 qs through with overage - although the cashier missed one, I still ended up $11 ahead. not complaining!

the qs dont expire until march 2010 I think??

I've been lucky enough to always get the overage with these but Saturday at the store in Williamsburg VA, they refused the coupons all together. SM Paul was very nasty...admitted I was right on every point but still refused to let me use the coupons. He was stuck on ego it seems.

call the customer service 1-800 phone number. I had a problem with them taking the $4Q and called. The gentleman I talked to said they can take any Q as long as it's for the correct item. I read him the print on the $4Q and the $7Q and he said they were legit. The cashier can either adjust the price (I've discovered only one cashier that could figure this out) or take it for the full amount, since they would be redeemed the full amount plus .08cents.
They also mailed me a letter of apology and 2x$3coupons for the problem.
I explained to him that I wasn't complaining, just making sure I was not using a coupon inappropriately. I think it's worth the call:)

I called the DM first, left a message, no response of course. I called corporate today. Tried to call Sat. but they were closed.

First person is foreign, I ask for a supervisor (I heard asking for a supervisor gets you to the Minn. office). I get another foreign person who is difficult to understand. He asks "how are you being?" I knew I was in trouble. I explained everything to him. One of his questions was "was this a rebate coupon?" I said no.

He then thought hard about it (It sounded like he was reading a script and selecting my answers) and said, "I'm sorry, we do not accept manufacturer's rebates".

I said, I just told you this is not a rebate. Then asked to be transferred stateside.

Then I get a person in the home office. Kathy. She is a real you know what. She started off in the position that I was a scammer and wrong. She was sarcastic and cut me off every other sentence.

She called the store and called me back and said the store manager would take my Q if I provided a letter from the Manufacturer indicating that this was a valid use of coupon.

By now I had gotten a reply from P&G (I will post below) supporting my position. I told her "I have it, where can I send it?" She CLEARLY indicated that I was LYING and said she wouldn't accept anything I had to give her and that she'd call the Manufacturer herself and HUNG UP ON ME.

I called back later with my reference # and asked for the supervisor of the last person I spoke to. I didn't get a supervisor, but I got a very very knowledgeable and friendly person this time, thank goodness.

She agreed with me on the coupon and apologized profusely for my experience and the other rep. If I were willing to go back to the store I could buy the items no problem. She said she spoke with the store manager and got it straight.

The problem is the store is over an hour away and I had made a special trip. I can't drive all the way out there again.

I'm not dropping this, I am livid. I am writing a letter of complaint about Kathy, and a letter of complaint to the DM about the jerk store manager. He owes me an apology and restitution for the $175 in coupons he confiscated from me PLUS my time, travel and aggravation. He also needs coupon training and I want documentation of him correctly retraining his staff as well.

Email from P&G:

Thanks for contacting Crest.

I'm sorry our coupon caused some confusion. Space limitations sometimes prevent us from showing all the versions that a coupon can be redeemed for. And sometimes the package size or version pictured is not the same as that mentioned in the text that appears. The wording on the coupon always determines what products the coupon can be used for. If there is no size or version stated it can be used for any version of the Whitestrips, to include the trial size. If the version was less in cost than the coupon there would be no refund of the difference.

Of course, we can't force a retailer to accept coupons and often stores develop their own policies regarding coupon redemption. Your local store may have such a policy or they may not be familiar with our coupon redemption rules.

We want you to be pleased with our special offers, and if you aren't, we want to know. We appreciate your feedback and I'm sharing it with our Promotions Team. To let you know how much we value you as a customer, I'm also following up by postal mail. Please allow 2-3 weeks for my letter to arrive.

Thanks again for getting in touch!

Steve

"If the version was less in cost than the coupon there would be no refund of the difference."

This part would indicate no overage - correct? Just checking...thx
