Nope notta for me - had them take them off - but I did score 6 quaker bites, 6 pringles (small cans .69 - .50 q) 2 boxes of quaker snacks - box of mac n chees crackers and box of something else - and they basically paid me to take it (oh add on some planters) b/c the quaker snacks rang up .88 too much for the 2 - VOILA $5.00 scanright guarantee for MI :) made me feel a little better about the Bliss that I guess I didn't need hanging on my ars anyhow

Thanks, repped you. I noticed these when I was there yesterday, but didn't want to take time to try it since I had dh and the 2 kids with me. I will have to try it tomorrow when I take dh's grandma for her weekly shopping trip.

What is the "scanright guarantee"? I am just curious because I have noticed lately that things at Target don't seem to be scanning correctly and wanted to know if this is a corporate policy or ymmv store policy? I have had to take in 3 receipts in the past month because of things scanning incorrectly. 2 were clearance items, but the other was just a sale item.

The scanright guarantee simply means that if an item is marked and sold at the incorrect price that the buyer has the right to go back to the retailer and get the amount of the difference back, PLUS 10% of the difference, up to $5.00. State law sates that to receive this guarantee that the price must be marked on the item. It does not apply to shelf sticker prices and not to sale items. Some stores in Michigan are pretty proactive and just hand this amount out whenever there is a scanning problem.

I tried again today with a different cashier and he accepted them.... but to be honest, he's a little weird and accepts everything. So, I still don't know!:shrug7:

My T wouldn't do the Bliss bars, small Pringle can (.69/.50 off TQ) , small bag of Planter's nuts ($1.69/$1 off TQ), or the Easy Mac (.77 ea/$1 off 2 TQ). Nobody (all they way up to Corporate) would give me an explanation. I was humiliated and mad. Is'nt it false advertising if the coupn doesn't specify any details?

Cheap Chickadee, I feel your pain. I had Target coupons printed out yesterday to get free Bliss bars and free small bags of Chex Mix to out in gft baskets for Teacher Appreciation Week at my daughter's preschool (wel,, Ok, maybe I was going to save some Bliss for myself...) and the cashier wouldn't take them because the coupon was more than the item price. I asked if she could adjust the price down, and she said she wasn't allowed. She then told me that the coupon was for bags of candy, not the bars. I pointed out, very politely, that there was no size restriction on the coupon, but she was, very politely, adamant.

Is this a YMMV issue or does corporate have a policy that I could use to back up my position? Any help appreciated!

My cashier said no go. She said they can't take a coupon for more than the value of the product. Then she said it is for the bags.
I'll try again tomorrow with a different cashier, since I do not see how they can deny with no size specification.

This is the policy they will send you if you contact corporate: Target coupon policy

One "guideline" in the policy is "We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item; in this case, we're able to adjust the value of the coupon to equal the price of the item." The cashier should have adjusted the price. There's nothing in the policy that would help you argue against her bags vs. bars judgment, though.

I had a bad experience with these coupons and the chex ones. The computer wasn't accepting them so the cashier asked the manager and the manager came over and told me they weren't valid Target coupons and didn't come from the Target website. She said they were ones created by someone else to look like Target coupons. Excuse me???? I was pretty annoyed. And the cashier first tried to tell me it was for the bags because that's what was on the picture. I don't know if I'll try again later with a different manager on duty and a different cashier or just let it go.
