I just did the Air Wick Luminere deal and since its always easier to get the cashier to hit the K1 button than to adjust the price of the coupon down by 1 cent, I like to add a cheap filler item to cover the penny overages. (i.e. I bought 7 of the Air Wicks each at $4.99 but had 7 coupons for $5.00 off each and without a cheap filler, the last $5.00 coupon won't work just by hitting the K1 button)
Anyway, I used to always buy a single stick of string cheese for 23 cents but now the price has gone up to 40 cents!!! So, I'm wondering what cheap items you use for this purpose. Anything cheaper than 40 cents? I don't have a "Super Target" - just a regular target that has an expanded food section.
Thanks

you could always get a $1 pkg of rayovac batteries from the $ section, or get a clearance pk of gum.. our targets in louisville ky always have some candy/gum on clearance, and always have batteries in the dollar spot.
u could keep a giftcard on you, and just tell them to add $1 to it.

I got the starbucks chocolate yesterday with it, had a coupon for $1 and paid .56 total for both, that includes tax
Even the candy is something like 79¢. I like the idea of the string cheese. Somewhat healthy, and you'll really use it.
When I have overage and the cashier says I have to buy something, I laugh and say something like, "oh please don't make me buy candy. please...please, no candy". We both laugh and I pick out a bar that's 2 for $1.
