I don't know if anyone is interested in a new sewing machine, or a gift, or a starter machine, but I almost bought the Shark Brand sewing machine that's usually just under $100, for just under $50 on clearance.

Hmm, anyone know how well these sew thick fabric like jeans or backpack material? We really need a sewing machine but it has to sew tougher things.

No. It's a 50-stitch machine. Model 801B according to the tag. I think it might be this one:

but I'm not positive of that because it doesn't have the model number on the page.

I've been in the market for a new machine & all the reviews that I've found for this manf. (regardless of model) have been very poor.
