| BRAG: The Newbies Trip To Target Hello, I'm pretty new to the enlightened coupon world (only dipping my feet in so far, just a few months in! ), and seeing as quite a bit of people are sharing their Target trips through pictures, I thought I would take a crack at sharing mine as well. This was, unfortunately, one of the worst trips to Target I have ever had in terms of the customer service, and time waiting in-line since I started seriously using coupons. And, I have never had a problem using coupons at this Target before either. However, on the bright side, it was one of the better trips to Target I have had in terms of coupon-ing! :-) Here is a rundown of what I purchased; TRANSACTION 1: 20 Dove Deodorant; $0.99 each (-$0.75 coupon per each, = $0.24 a piece). 26 Suave Deodorant; 20 rang up at $0.99, and 6 rang up at $0.94; (-$0.75 coupon per each, = $0.24/$0.19 a piece/$5.94 for all 26!). 4 Suave Body Wash; $1.85 each (-two B1G1F coupons, cashier rang up each at $2.00, plus one $0.50 off one Body Wash coupon. =$2.90 for all four bottles). 2 Herbal Essence Shampoos; $2.94 each (-Target coupon for $2.00/2, and one $1.00 manufacturer coupon, = $2.88 for both). 2 Tylenol 8-count; $0.97 each (-$1.00 IP coupon per each, = overage total of -$0.06 for both). 6 Rolaids; $0.97 each (-$1.00 coupon per each, = overage total of -$0.18 for all). 4 Oral-B Floss; $0.97 each (-$1.00 coupon per each, = overage total of -$0.12 for all). 2 Kids Band-Aids; $0.99 each (-$1.00 coupon per each, = overage total of -$0.02 for both). 2 Fusion Men's Razors; $7.94 (-Target coupon for $2.00, and manufacturer coupon for $4.00 per each, =$1.94 a piece). 1 CoverGirl Lip Gloss; $4.84 (-Target coupon for $1.00, and CG coupon for $2.00, = $1.84). 1 CoverGirl Compact (on Sale!); $3.98 (-Target coupon for $1.00, and CG coupon for $1.00, = $1.98). 16 Ziplock 25-count; $1.00 each (-$1.50/2 coupon per each two, = $4.00 for all). 2 AirWick Starter Kits; $5.99 each (-$4.00 IP for each, = $1.99 a piece). 1 Tidy Cat 20 Ib. Litter; $7.44 (-Target coupon for $1.00, and one $1.00 manufacturer coupon, = $5.44). 4 Meow Mix Cat Food Cups; 2 rang up at $0.34, and 2 rang up at $0.52 (-4 FREE Meow Mix Cups coupons, cashier rang up each at $0.52, so overage total of -$0.36 for all). 4 Purina Cat Treats; $1.07 each (-$1.50/2 coupons, =$1.28 for all). 1 Huggies Wipes; $0.99 (-$1.00 coupon, that the cashier decided to push down to the price of the item, so $0.99=FREE). -(items with no coupons used) 2 Kraft BBQ Sauce; $0.75 each (Sale!). 2 Burger Buns; $1.19 each (impulsive buy). 1 Catnip; $2.94 (impulsive buy). 1 Milk; $3.49 (impulsive buy). TAX: $7.99 =$56.48 TRANSACTIONS #2 -thru- #5: Huggies Wipes; $0.99 (-$1.00 coupon, that the cashier decided to push down to the price of the item, so $0.99=FREE). TAX: $0.06 TOTAL: $0.06 X 4 transactions = $0.24 for all four Huggies Wipes. --- The reason for the extra four transactions of Huggies Wipes was because of the not-so-bright, and quite rude floor manager (?). She stated (surprise, surprise!) that a 'purchase' when described on a coupon was really a 'transaction' (tried to explain that nearly every coupon states 'one coupon per purchase' not per transaction/customer, but she was not listening at all. Even tried to show her that all the other coupons I had stated this as well. Nothing clicked. ). So, Huggies were 1 item and 1 coupon per transaction. And, I had to suggest the extra transactions to her, of which she let me do at HER store just this one time. Like it was something I was doing wrong by purchasing more than one! I waited in-line for over an hour while the cashier (whom was a very nice girl but more-than-likely new), the rude woman whom this store supposedly "belongs to" (but she is not the Store Manager ), and a random (Store Manager/DM?, the most informed one of the bunch! ...But, unfortunately, they had to leave. ) popped over to over-see/fix my transaction. And made me pull out and go over every item I had in the cart. Lot of good it did them, seeing as the cashier still gave me unnecessary overage for almost all my coupons). We had several 'classic' talks about coupons; Lesson One: "These coupons won't accept trial sizes!" (Reply: "Please read the coupon. They would state that on the coupon, if they did not.") Lesson Two: *indignant* "I can't adjust the price of the coupon or the item to match it. We do not do that here!" (Reply: *hands them the Target Coupon Policy email, and past receipts from other Target purchases*) "...Oh. I've never done that before." Lesson Three: "Target does not get the face value of the coupon back!" (Reply: "Please read the fine print on the coupon, they will even give you eight cents additional. Thank you." <-- *Also, I was confused as to why this mattered anyway. What am I supposed to pay out the extra cent to make it a dollar?* :shrug7:). And even a couple 'new' issues I have seen other coupon-ers have as well with these coupons; One: "These coupons won't work on Huggies Wipes! They are for Huggies Bath & Body!" (Reply: *Stares at them*) "Oh... I guess wipes are used for body.") Two: "These coupons are for boxed ZipLocks only!" (Reply: "Please, read the coupon, they are for any two Ziplock brand.") Three: "But these are for $1.50 on two, and they are a dollar each, I can't give you overage!" (Reply: "They are a $1.50 on two. One dollar, plus one dollar, will equal two dollars.") Four: "You have four Suave Body Washes, and I have three coupons! You can't use another on these!" (Reply: *Is confused but very 'done' at this point* "That's fine, did you apply all three already?") "Yes, do you still want the fourth bottle?" (Reply: *Is very confused at this point* "I'll just keep all four bottles, thank you."). All-in-all, I have never had this tasking of an experience at Target before, I will definitely be contacting customer relations, and dropping off a letter from them to this store about Targets coupon policy, and what defines a transaction in the eyes of the manufacture and store. Over an hour in-line listening to an uneducated person stating it was her store, over and over again. I'm sure corporate would love to hear about that. Not to mention the rude gal at Customer Service when I tried to get a rain-check on the Lysol NeutraAir Starter Kit, whom stated that I absolutely could not get a rain-check on that sale (after the other salesperson in the cleaning department said I could). *shakes head* I don't think the right-hand knew what the left-hand was doing at this store today. :hectic1: Anyway, in the end I ended up getting everything I had in my cart, with all my coupons, only minus one $0.50 coupon for the Suave Body Wash. I must say I am kind of proud of myself on this considering how much I just wanted to say 'Screw it!', leave the whole cart at the register, and take my money elsewhere. Ah, well, I digress. Does anyone know of the best avenues to use to contact corporate? Thanks to all in advance (especially for reading my soapbox post)!

| BRAG: Super Target Trip in Cincinnati--$0.86 OOP Okay, so I went to Target on Colerain Ave today expecting to have a problem with all of the Q's I was using. Well when I got to the checkout, the cashier was a teenage boy who I appologized to for all the Q's I was using. He said no problem..everyone likes to save money!
So here's a rundown of what I got...for $0.86!!
3-ob trial size 3 pk with travel case @ 0.99 ea (3-1.50/1 Q's from 6/29)
2- tylenol 8ct 8 hr. @0.99 ea (2-1/1 any tylenol printable, can't remember where I found this one)
1-motrin travel size, 3 pk w/ 2 ea--6ct@0.99 (1/1, exluding trial size, but since I got the one with 3 individual 2 ct pkgs in box it workded)
3- king size pringles @1.42 ea (used 3-0.50/1 printables from target.com under super target q's, stacked w/ 0.30/3 pringles)
2-ziploc 25 ct sandwich bags at front register @ 1.00 ea ( 1/2 Q from all about you 5/31 issue)
1- johnson's baby lotion 1 oz @ 0.79 (1/1 johnsons baby, any size printable)
1- gold bond body powder 1 0z@ 0.99 (1/1 any gold bond powder)
2-clearisil face wash 1 0z @ 0.97ea (2/1 any clearisil IP)
So, I was planning on spending around 3-4 OOP, but somehow this nice cashier blessed me with some great overages! Can't complain about that!! |
