| Re: Does anyone here have the sturdy box coupon carrier? I have the Coupon Box that you are thinking of and I did get it off of Ebay like the other poster mentioned, which made it a little cheaper than the site that you are at. I had a large accordian file before this that was duct taped until it couldn't be taped anymore!! So, I love this box and it works out great for me. The highlights:- Although the inserts are cardboard, the whole thing does seem to be made quite well.
- There is room for all of my coupons and then some.
- It seems to latch very securly and I can carry it easily with my purse or anything else that I am toting around
Things that I am not fond of: - I didn't have any use for the Coupon Spreadsheet that they have attached to the top inside cover and it is glued on pretty securely. My husband was able to eventually rip it off and I have glued in a pocket file folder and put my grocery ads in it.
- My biggest disappointment is that it does not fit nicely into the top of the shopping cart. So, I either put it in the back of the cart or try to balance it when I am looking in it when I am out shopping.
All in all, however, I am very happy and even purchased one for my dad for Christmas! |

| Re: Organizing Your "Carry To Store" Coupons I use the binder method with bb card holders. Actually I find it relaxing on Sunday mornings to cut my coupons and file them away. (couponing has become my new hobby!) I cut every coupon and make 2 piles, one for me and one for trade. Usually I put the trades in an envie until I have time to sort them into an index card box I have seperated into catergories.
The ones I keep I usually sort right away and while doing so take out all the expireds or soon to be I know I won't use, they go into an expired box for trade. I only buy 2 newspapers to start with, if they are good I will get another. My mom sends me individual q's she knows I use and I've recently started trading so my piles are building. I've only been doing this for about 3 months so I'm still pretty new.
I can see how my 1 inch binder will not be enough soon I'm considering getting a bigger one or using a different method. I like how I can throw my binder in my purse ( I have a huge purse b/c I carry all the snacks for the kiddos) I usually take the q's out I know I will use and paper clip them to my list, only if I see a good deal do I open up the binder. So far so good, but I really like how my index card box is set up also for trade q's.

| Re: Organizing Your "Carry To Store" Coupons I use two index card holders - 1 for food items - 1 for everything else. Each section is label, ie beverage, breakfast, frozen etc. Behind each section I then have index cards label to seperate the section, ie, breakfast, then cereal, bars, drinks. Beverage, then juice, sodas, other. It really works for me, depending on which store I'm going to is the one I carry in - though both are kept in the car (just in case).
I've shown it to friends and they're starting to use it too.

Also most times they end up getting folded and then I can't see the coupon or it doesn't fit/too thick and it ends up falling out. And then it seems like right when you are keeping up with everything the binder gets too full and it's already heavy as heck to walk into the store with.I can't imagine bring two binders with me. Then suddenly they all expire and your up all night again re- organizing.
Is it just me with this problem? lol | I found it a bit bulky for me, too.....and since the binder is too big to fit in my purse, I'd go out a lot without it and end up stopping at a store WITHOUT coupons, GASP!! That's why I switched to an index file box. I did move up from the 3x5 to a 4x6 size to accomodate larger size coupons-and more of them, lol. I just carry a purse large enough to hold it and now I always have them with me......I think the most important thing is to fing something that works for YOU- we don't all shop the same, either. I have looked really hard at Mrs. A's coupon binder, though! I was using the little baseball card holders and the pockets were too small; Mrs. A's look roomy enough to hold the bigger coupons. But...I really like having something compact that I can carry anywhere~

| Re: Organizing Your "Carry To Store" Coupons I can't remember if I posted or not, lol, but i love the small photo picture albums, for coupons!! great for labeling, various stores, groceries.. and each wk, i put the coupons i need, into each of the slots, like CVS, etc.. then at the back, when i find the item, i put it in the back, inside one of the slots.. makes it much easier!! LOVE my photo album, its small and perfect!! ps: i got mine for 99 cents, at the 99 cents store.

| Re: Organizing Your "Carry To Store" Coupons Hi everyone. I did a kind of combo thing with mine last night. I am still not finished but this is what I am trying right now:
First I bought a zipper binder at Wal-Mart for 10 bucks. I liked it b/c it was strong, has an expandable file, outer zipper pocket, inner pencil bag and lots of room for my binder pages.
Next, I bought an alphabetical (A-Z) index, tab dividers. A. is for Walgreens, B. is for CVS, I left a couple extra sections and F is for Krogers. These are where I mainly shop, right now. I then added a baseball card insert and 2 4x6 picture inserts for each WG and CVS. I also added 1 8x10 sheet protector. One 4x6 is for my RR or ecb's. I also keep store coupons in the baseball card shet.
The expandable part has 5 sections ( I think) and wil be to keep my weekly sales ads, the front will be for uncut coupons, although I am pretty good at keeping them cut. I put a 8x10 in the back for items to be filed.
ALso under Kroger, as it is Grocery, I divided up the rest of the index for sections: medicine, bath: shampoo and soap, bath: toothpaste and deoderant, laundry, Bath: misc., baking, soups, frozen, dairy, etc.
Now I just flip throughgh and can easily find everything.
I love it.
PS I probably spent about 25 total, including binder. I know that is kinda up there, but yesterday alone I reaped 19 dollars back to spend next week. I think if it is easier to find stuff, you will save/make more money later and more than make up for it.
I love this place!!! |
